Not much painting tonight.

Gave the Renaissance troops a brown wash - including the more sandy bases.

Also tried to paint the canopy lines of the Squat helicopters - with not the best results - so might need to touch them up. Not totally sure what to do with the rotor blades. Had initially thought to leave them black - but not sure if that looks a bit dull.

How about painting some varying width, thin light grey lines across the black rotors to give the impression of movement? if you use thinned down paint it should dry slightly fuzzy along the edges.

Now that you're in a good mood from winning the 200,000 lottery, is there any chance of you being able to share your home brew rules.....

Hello, my name is GrumpyOldMan and I'm a rule-aholic.....

Araby vs Dark Elves

Played our home brew rules again last night, Araby army vs Dark Elves (who look a lot like High Elves in the photo, due to the Dark Elf player having to paint the house, rather than his army  :-\ ).

A couple of photos from mid-game

The left flank, the Hydra has just charged the Araby Spearmen, which it killed one and wounded others, but ended up locked in combat, allowing the marauding horse Archers to get flank and rear charges, which cause automatic wounds - leading to a dead Hydra.
Behind are some Witch Elves, which spent much of the game wandering around, taking missile fire - they finally got a charge in on the last turn, against Spearmen on the hill (one of the objectives, out of shot to the left), and died horribly, largely due to some very good dice rolls from me.  ;)

The right flank. On the far side I have cleared off the Dark Riders who where rather exposed and shot to pieces by twice their number of Araby foot and horse archers. In the middle I had lost my Camel Riders and some knights, but they had caused casualties in return, and had split up the DE forces. Now my troops were massing on the right flank ready to swing back in. The infantry were about to attack the village (the other objective) and the knights were about to swing round and charge the harpies (almostly totally ineffectually, needing 5+ to hit on a d10, I scored 1 hit out of 10 attacks  :'( ). In the centre the elephants did enough against the DE spears, that the flying carpets and horse archers could finish them off (there are also 3 units of archers just out of shot to the right too).

A good game - even the DE player enjoyed it, despite it swinging heavily against him at the end.

From that nice Mr Leon.

But looking for a link now, I can't see them on either Pendraken or Minibits webstores.

Perhaps it's the Dark Lord's way of showing us that only conflicts in temperate zones are blessed by him.

Nope. All the trees are gone.   >:(

The Middlesbrough' palm tree plantations are gone?

How come there wasn't a post on Facebook  warning all of us to this travesty
