wow those are some amazing minis what line is that from?

They are old GW Epic Space Marines, 6mm sized. Long out of production but still quite readily available on eBay.

It must have been hard to paint the Fishnet stockings....  ;D ;D

Sorry, couldn't resist. Interesting to see somebody else being pummelled by the spell check for a change.

Seriously, they look very good, are these (and the swordsmen) for your home grown rules as well? I'm assuming they are, going by the 40x40 bases.

Bloody auto correct - even copied it from the webstore to get the right spelling.

These are probably more likely for Irregular Wars (apart from the wizard). But they may well get roped into a Fantasty army at some point.

Not much painting tonight.

Gave the Renaissance troops a brown wash - including the more sandy bases.

Also tried to paint the canopy lines of the Squat helicopters - with not the best results - so might need to touch them up. Not totally sure what to do with the rotor blades. Had initially thought to leave them black - but not sure if that looks a bit dull.

Can't help you with the canopy lines. A job I hate and put off, for as long as possible. You could try to liven up the rotor blades with  some dayglo danger markers similar to the tail rotor below. It could be a warning for squats not to become minced  :)

Nice work, again, Forbes !  8)

Thanks chaps.

GoM good idea about the markings - there are some bulges on the rotors (probably not really visible in the photos)

Been putting together a base marker for the Tyranids - its a 40k plastic part, and I have done a green goo base to go inside, using water effects to give both a sheen and a ripple effect

Looks suitably creepy and organic. Look forward to the finished article.

Thanks. Not totally decided on the scheme, I'm using red for organic bits and bone for armour on my Nids, but this piece looks to be s bit different in structure to the beasties.

Bone for the "cauldron," red for the "stinger" and green for the tentacles maybe? The cauldron appears to be in three layers - stripes of red or green to break up the expanse of bone.

Just random thoughts.

I like the idea of breaking up the cauldron walls - might try a shading effect on them.

Think that that's going to look rather spiffy.  :)

Cheers - Phil (Is it me, or are folk being rather coy about posting, because we're so close to the 200K mark ?  ;))
