You surprise me there

Actually, I don't get it either, which perhaps alarmingly makes me less hip than Michael Gove.

I think that Rap is something else with a letter missing.

I like rap, well some of it anyway. Like any genre there is good and bad. Opinions may vary as to where the line falls, naturally.

I even like rappers like (Maitre) Gims who raps in French, a language I speak very little of.

Rap = (modern) poetry to music - that's the way I look at it - a bit like Dylan is pros to music

I quite like a bit of rap but I do have quite an eclectic mix on my playlists.  Rap, hip-hop, classic rock, hard rock, metal, nu-metal, bit of mainstream pop, indie, electronic dance.

I don't like music where I can't tell what they're saying, so thrash (too much screaming) or grime can get in the bin.  I can't do drum 'n' bass either, too much like noise to me.

I find a lot of modern stuff very 'conveyor belt' music where it's the same looking people singing the same sounding songs, but I sometimes stick the music channels on TV at night and find interesting new artists.

John Cook

Just seen the news.  Captain of Wales, British Lion and Barbarian.  Also one of the most distictive voices of Rugby journalism.  So unexpected.

Gwydion

Cambridge graduate, French teacher at Cheltenham College, Captain of Wales at a difficult time but a great player and possibly a better commentator.
I missed his dual commentary with Brian Moore when Moore moved on, two partisan players who produced sublimely neutral but engaging commentary on the most hotly contested games.
A wordsmith and a thinker.
A big loss.

QuoteHas he died? I dont think so.
Much worse, he jumped a queue.

....and that's how rumours start.

He and Holly were photographed waiting, along with other reporters, to go in and do a piece for their TV show, as they were perfectly entitled to do, but somehow it is being spun online as queue jumping.

I only see him because my dental surgery has his prog on in the waiting room, so I associate him with excruciating pain. The dental work is fine
