Based up the various batches of figures I got back from Paul recently (a total of around 50 pike and 30 shot) onto 40mm X 30mm sabot bases.

With a couple of spare command figures I have been able to make a dedicated third unit (MacDonnell's) to be able to field the whole of Montrose's Irish Brigade as Commanded Shot (as required for some of his bigger battles like Kilsyth).

The rest are fillers for existing units, mainly to turn "ordinary" pike and shot Batillia into Early ECW Irish pike heavy/all pike units by simply removing the two shot sleeve sabots and replacing them with pike armed sabots.

Now onto several regiments of "rabble" and the dedicated Irish Horse and Commanders to finish off this project.

Here are a few pictures of the latest batch of Irish foot that I took recently:

MacDonnell's Regiment of commanded shot:

Montrose's complete Irish Brigade as commanded shot units:

Some Lancer pikemen on sabots which will be used to replace the two shot sleeves of a pike and shot battalia to portray an "all pike" armed unit, as appeared in the earlier phases of the War of the Three Kingdoms in Ireland. The shot are Pendraken on a spare sabot:

More pikes, all Pendraken this time for more "all pike" units:

Hmmm didn't see those unpainted base bits......as Mrs Shy always tells me "you must have your man eyes on"  ;)
