Just had a call from our local GP and I'm getting my first jab on Monday :). To say that I'm very happy is somewhat of an understatement as I wasn't expecting it until end of April at the earliest! Either my asthma or being a full-time carer has shifted me up the queue.

Astma - depens how bad, full time carer is a definate factor. In England allthe top 4 groupos have had 1 jab. It dont hurt too much  :D

About 3 minutes ago.... (When I started to plonk this out...Call it half an hour, now.)

Phone...Ring, ring...."Hello....Mr Lewis..".... "Yes".....Have you been to have your Covid jab, today ?"......"Errrrrm, No....."  (What ??)

Booked in for a week from today.... Both me and the better half (The sensible one  :-*) a minute apart.
I'm certainly not going to be extracting the wee....for a VERY LONG time after Von & I have been 'done'......But it's nice to know when we'll 'be jabbed'...for the first time.

Cheers - Phil.

My asthma is mild but I suffer from slight changes to my peak flwo rates, so I can cycle long distances on the flat no problem, but climbing stairs leaves me somewhat out of breath! The carers recently got added to the priority list.

Being old helps move you up the queue. Glad ya'll are getting yours, Phil. It don't hurt too much.  :)

No idea which one Von & I will be getting. :-\

Bill....I'm so used to being jabbed in the arm, I probably won't even notice it.

Cheers - Phil. :)

I suspect it's what they have - Pfizer may be used first cause it's a pig to store. You will be given a business card with which it was on it.

Sounds like I should be happy I haven't had one yet? Looks like it's a proof of youth!  :D

I've now ben offered a 1st jab 3 times - via NHS and twice via local surgery - so spent 20 mins on the phone trying to sort it out. Just as well I'm not unscrupulous - could have booked it as my second  :)

I'm enjoying watching the Robins start building a nest in one of our bird boxes, which I finally got around to cleaning out, as SWMBO reminded me it was long overdue. The Blue Tits keep checkign out the same box, so we are intrigued as to who will win. My money is on the Robins due to their rather aggressive territorial nature.

Ten bob on the Robins.
They're proper fightin' birds.

We got fed up with the squirrel eating all the food from the bird feeders, so bought a fancy pole with a 'squirrel baffle' .  This has stopped the squirrels, but the only birds that now use take the feed are one robin, a blackbird and a sparrow, with the odd tit eating a few nuts.

The pole, a 25kg bag of seed, big tub of fat balls and other feed has  cost a fortune. I have managed to stop the flying rats getting at the food as well by careful placement of the food and water tray.

The pole is located a couple of meters from some suitable bushes they can check its safe from,  they have a varied menu, Assorted seeds and nuts, nyjer seed, fat balls . meal worms and peanuts. But we cannot seem to attract any more birds to out 'resturant'

I blame that Chris Packham for our lack of song birds as we now have more magpies and jays and other corvids than we used to before he got the general licence banned. We also seem to have more flying rats
