Mainly some reinforcements for the 1914 BEF and German stuff that I already have: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,10195.360.html

For the BEF:
a Motor Machine Gun Battery (OK a bit early but good for our semi-fictonal early war games) 3 x M/cycle combos with Maxim or Vickers in the sidecar plus HQ
a divisional level heavy artillery battery (2 x 60 pdr stands)
more Vickers MMG stands to give two stands per battalion for 1915 games (The BEF can be used for ANZAC's)
a mountain gun battery (3 x 10pdr BL mountain guns) plus mule trains for when on the move. Again mainly for ANZACs. They are TINY models!

For the Germans:
another 2 companies of infantry and a Regimental MG coy to bring the regiment to full strength of 13 companies (3 bttns).
a Jager Battalion - including MG coy and Cyclist coy, to round out the GerAugust 1914.man Cavalry Division.
a Foot Artillery heavy howitzer battery (2 x 150mm stands)
MG carts for the Cavalry Division's MG battery (3 stands)
Some FPW standard bearers to add to the infantry battalion and regimental/brigade HQ stands (largely for appearances but some German regiments did carry their colours uncased during the initial invasion of Belgium in August 1914 - at least two were captured by the Belgians).

This time I'm going to paint the guns and vehicles myself  :o

Paul has kindly agreed to once again paint up the figures for me - once he has the last of his AWI stuff done.
...
So look out for some progress reports on these over the next little while.

As already mentioned we got the key figures done for the Nery refight back in August but the rest were in the queue behind my AWI stuff

Yesterday I had a look at the WWI figures Pierre the Shy dropped off in August :o and worked out what needs doing :!!
Basically a batch of Germans and a half batch of British. I will combine the British with my outstanding AWI as that will make a 'batch'

I will make a start of prep'ing the British while waiting for the paint to dry on the AWI buildings I'm working on

British and Indian artillery crew and mules cleaned up and washed ready to go on painting rods :)

This half batch fitted nicely with the half batch of AWI I have to finish ;)

Apparently up to 1914 the class composition of mountain batteries was half Punjabi Musalmans and half Sikhs and other Hindus {source:  http://victorianmilitarysociety.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=27:mountain-gunners-a-brief-history-of-the-indian-mountain-artillery-1840-1914&catid=10:articles&Itemid=9}

Ace of Spades

Maybe a useful tip (maybe not...) but for my Afghans I used the GW 'Dwarf flesh' with some brown ink added (I used ink because the paint needed thinning anyhow after years of neglect ;) )

Thanks Ace

I went with Vallejo Tan Earth over the English Uniform base coat, then highlighted with Tan Earth mixed with a little white.
I am reasonably happy with the result. With the beards on the Sikhs you don't see much skin anyway ;)

I've finished the painting on these, I will check and do any required touch ups tonight then wash tomorrow

Figure bases painted :)

Will hopefully get a chance, at tonight's game, to check with Pierre the Shy if there is anything else I need to do with these 'Brits'

Have started sorting the Germans, need to also check how different from the Infantry he wants the green for the Jägers :-\

Checked with Pierre the Shy, he will base up the 'Brits' so I will take some pictures later today of them as they are. He can add some pics of them once based.

Started cleaning up the Jägers and 'converting' some helmets to shakos :-SS

Also have some infantry, artillery crew and standard bearers to clean up
