It's amazing what a wash will do on well sculpted figures ;)

The weather was kind despite the forecast and I got the Jägers and Infantry reinforcements varnished and photographed :)

In my 1917 thread I commented

90% + is practice, Paul.
Every single person on this forum, that paints the wee men, has the main 'skill' that's involved......Hand/eye coordination.

Well here is a chance to see how much little practise I have had ;)

Jäger Battalion

Close ups of the bicycle company some of whom started out as WWII GR45 Infantry pushing loaded bicycle

Infantry Regiment Reinforcements
One stand per company to bring the two weak battalions of the Regiment up to full strength

Spare company
Three stands of infantry had been based as stand ins for the Machine gun battery, I based a couple of spare figures to bring them up to a full strength company, perhaps pioneers

They all look really good. What an imaginative use of the WWII cyclist.

Very pleased with the results - the WW2 figures transformed into WW1 cyclists without too much trouble, thanks to Paul

that's a big battalion of Jagers - have to come up with suitable scenario soon for them to make an appearence :)

Some pictures of the Indian WW1 10 pdr mountain gun battery that I finally got time to base for our ANZAC game next week....they're from Pendraken's NW Frontier range.

Nicely painted figures and labels by Paulr..... guns and terrain and bases by me....enjoy  :)

Amazing...the pictures work using BBS code  8)

I like those a lot!

fsn may wonder where the mules are to haul those rocks around with the unit though :)

Well, of course, it's not for me to say, but yes, one does wonder.  :P

While I have inspiration (and an extra day off since its ANZAC day today) I took some pics of some more stuff that I've finished doing.....yes I was up early and we went to the local ANZAC day parade this morning.... I always make the effort to go along and remember those who served.

Added some more flock to the backs of the 10pdr mountain gun battery bases - l think they look a lot better.

Added FPW standard bearers and suitable flags (from PNFL71 flagsheet) to three German infantry battalion command bases and the Jager battalion command stand - They look the part and there is evidence that colours were carried in the opening days of the German advance into Belgium.

Added some Heavy Metal for the two armies -Divisional level 60pdr battery for the BEF and 150mm battery for the Germans - I'm very pleased with how these turned out.

Next up - MMG battery, some Rolls Royce armoured cars and some other Mechanical Transport items (trucks to you  ;))

Those look cracking, Peter !  :-bd
