A model definitely isn't one building, its what the footprint represents - you go with the ground scale for footprint, so in BP a 2cm x 1cm building is actually 20 x 10 yards ( using cms not inches), with various buildings in.  In 10mm, 10mm houses are still too often small in figure scale.  the troops in Leman's town do look like people with pituitary problems.  Even in 6mm the footprint is too big to be a single building.

Just to mess with your mind, the next issue is "boats."  What scale to use for ACW ships, gunboats and river steamers etc.? Thinking of actions which involved or could involve naval forces (e.g., Shiloh).

Hmmmm. I've never tried 6mm buildings with 10mm figures, mostly because I play a lot of modern conflicts at 1:1 figure scale. Can't say the idea of 6mm building ever occurred to me.

Sorry, Ithoriel, I have to agree with you. 10mm buildings for 10mm figures.

I am basing on 25 x 25mm for normal infantry stands (Normal fire and fury bases) but 6 figures in two ranks.  So they will be close enough to yours and Sunjesters

Thanks for all the ideas. I really like the TBM buildings so may be tempted with 6mm Buildimgs, but I will wait till i see them in the flesh at a show.

What ground scale are you using? How big will your rivers/sea be :-\

SJ has his in 2 x 3.  I'm using 7/8 for a more ragged/dynamic look.  Allow us to introduce you to They Couldn't Hit an Elephant.

I'm not sure if anyone carries the 6mm ACW line at the shows, might be worth popping them an email to check?

Orcs, are you going to Warfare? I am taking some TBM 6mm ACW buildings there to pass on to my brother, who has just got into 10mm ACW. I'll be there in my Lance and Longbow polo and a Leman lanyard (carnation in lapel?).
