Ta! Basing on the Swiss an edging on both are not done yet, and I'll be popping some flags on when done as well but as test paints I'm rather excited :) Two more Swiss, four landsknecht pike bases to go from the current pile then it's off to the shop for the arty and horse. I'm aiming for a mini 3ft by 2ft base to play on, and make it a "whip it up the club and get a whole game done in an evening" sort of thing :)

This ones very motley I'm afraid - one of the rather nice Amera kits, beautified up by The Better Half of Toxicpixie!

If people feel it a bit rude to post a non-Pendraken auction pop me a note an I'll delete it off, but she's done a cracking job! Might be better in the non-Pendraken section, but thought I'd keep it here in my stuff!

28mm ruined chapel with a variety of scenic effects on. She was a bit nervous about it but it's bloody good, even accounting for bias :)

The pikeman with the weapon really lowered looks good, but I found him hopelessly impractical when the unit was frontally engaged, and so ended up replacing those figures with others in a more elevated position.

I'll second that. I have a 15mm pike block with front rank pikes lowered at the charge. Hopelessly impractical - besides being inherently unstable they're a pig to store.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Yeah, I was going to do even deeper bases and sit them back a centimetre or two on them (eg 40*60 deep with the back rank at the back the next three as seen), and I really should had the guts to carry that through. I kind of thought "eh, it'll be alright & looks a bit daft with them when in contact with other troops". And now I try to test them, it's totally impractical. I forsee a very thin sabot!. Which is ok, actually, as I can maybe rest a dice frame on it for hits & a marker for Disorder...

Edit - also, Paulr - thanks! I thought it was good, she's nervous but really good with anything craft like so I had high hopes :D

Just a little something I've had on the desk for a while, finally put the decals on. A Zvesda 1/144th Bf109 for a little AVBCW action with the SCUF and their KGL allies. Might also accompany my SCW Nationalists as well, if needed!

Love to see Renaissance pike blocks. I have tried the deep base for lowered pikes and it works a treat.

Ta! I think I'm going to do a sabot base for sure, slip underneath. Might even put a dice frame on for hits :)

I want to keep the 40mm frontage for club stuff, but also perhaps add a 60mm frontage for so e Impetus stuff (fantasy, as not-Empire :D) and/or as large units, so I might even have a twiddle at two :)

See if I can cut some plasticard and have a fiddle when I get thru my current commissions!
