Nice work again, Paul.

Incidentally, I've nicked your unit labels idea for my new project. I've taken it a bit further by putting clear sticky-tape over the label so it can be written on with an OHP pen. That way you can record casualties on the base and dispense with paper altogether.

You know what they say about imitation....  :-bd

Yes, I've used them for years, Will. Before Paul's innovation I used to just tag a small flap on the back of the command base.

It's a project like this that finally pushed me over to edge to start an AWI army myself!
Now.. I don't know wheter I should thank or hate you for that... :-\

Thumbs up on the fantastic work you've done though! :-bd

Cheers!  ;)

Glad you found the label idea useful.  :-bd

For Volley & Bayonet I use small (5mm diameter) 'pom-poms' that are available at craft stores to mark casualties and status. Tan for casualties (5 tans = 1 white to reduce clutter), green for stationary, yellow for temporary disorder and red for permanent disorder. I also use the tan for suppression markers in Spearhead.

First AWI Game

Due to real life of myself and others interfering with my plan to christen my AWI on 15 March, 233rd anniversary of Guilford Courthouse, and a subsequent attempt I decided to go with a solo game. A report on this game is over in the Batreps thread – http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,9765.msg115152.html

Below are some close up pictures of some of the key events.

The first shots by my AWI Hessian Jägers vs Butler's North Carolina Militia Brigade

23rd Foot charge Butler's North Carolina Militia

Butler's 1st Battalion routs (top)

23rd Foot breakthrough routing the rest of Butler's North Carolina Militia

33rd Foot and Campbell's Virginia Riflemen exchange fire

Part of Lee's Legion charges part of the 23rd Foot

23rd Foot and Hessian Jägers fire on Lee's Legion Dragoons

33rd Foot charges Campbell's Virginia Riflemen

Part of the 33rd Foot exchange fire with the Fifth Virginia Continental Regiment and suffer badly

23rd Foot supported by the Hessian Jägers charge the collapsed infantry of Lee's Legion only to be forced to retreat

Part of the 23rd Foot exchange fire with Steven's Virginia Militia Brigade

British Legion Dragoons move over the bridge is block by fire from part of the Fifth Virginia Continental Regiment

Second game went well on Saturday night. So well in fact that we have decided to play another game next Saturday  :)

Gives a very different game to either of the Napoleonic sets we use (V&B, home grown 1970s with bounce sticks) and certainly feels like the AWI battles we have read about  :)

The group were very impressed with figures, well done Clib
