They also show rhinos wearing leather pajamas, however!

If a rhino wants to wear leather pajamas, I'm not going to argue with him!

Contemporary artists are likely to have seen considerably more pikemen than rhinos - infinitely more in most cases.

Also - "pyjamas" unless you've taken to using US English? How are the mighty fallen! ;)

I've never joined in this forum's prevailing "We loathe the US because they've got too much money" drive. Not least, in this instance, because it's an Indian word and they spell it that way.

Hell, all languages (esp. English) are fully mutable and usage and spelling and punctuation merely guidelines.

None of them really matter, so long as the meaning is understood ;)

Now... pajama, pajam's, pajamas' or pyjama, pyjama's or pyjamas' or just p"$whatever"mas?!

My feeling entirely tp but regularly not FK's so I felt a little gentle feline tail pulling was in order :)

Also, personally, I feel American English is often nearer to the English our forebears (Goldilocks only had three bears but I have forebears :)  ) spoke than modern English is.

So I read the deepest vernacular of the most closely guarded communities in my local ish area is most akin to old english. Basically if you speak like you're from deepest Dudley you're pretty much spot on for actual English :D
