Hello,

I just started what I'm sure will become an unwieldy collection of 10mm English Civil War figures.
2 small envelopes from Pendraken = 300 miniatures.  Fantastic!

I've been messing about with toy soldiers since the late 80s, but this is my first foray into this scale.
That's the end of my disposable income, right?

Ric

Hell yeah it is! I'm considering making a sponge doormat so my wife doesn't hear the tell tale 'thud!' of a pendraken envelope whacking the floor!

Also, welcome to the forum, great bunch of people here!

Subedai

Ditto with the welcome.

I came late to the forum as well, only started posting when I read about the new Mongol sculpts...and as they say, the rest is history.

Hope you are going to post some pics of your ECW chaps when they are painted.

Plasticoutsider

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Yeah, I'll post photographs when I get a stand or two painted.
I can't get over the level of detail on the figures.
The intention is to have a go with the Black Powder Pike and Shotte rules.

Ric

I love the black powder rules, they are great fun!can't wait to see what you produce!

Welcome to the madhouse, Plasticoutsider.

Hi, welcome to a forum I've found to be filled with fun, friendly and knowledgeable people ... you'll soon get used to the in-jokes, personal hobby horses and occasional outbursts of apparent insanity :)

I would have said occasional bursts of apparent sanity not insanity.

Welcome. ECW with Black Powder could be a lot of fun. Am considering trying the Pike and Shotte version with the Italian Wars.

I object to the use of the word "apparent" > :)

Hello Mr Outsider,

May I add a hearty welcome to the forum. Just one thing - we don't tend to mention the "P" work (as in "P-outsider".) It's a bit like wearing a Tory rosette in Glasgow.

As for disposable income, there is a scheme whereby you can get your wages sent straight to Pendraken. Saves time. Leon has all the details.

Will you be sticking with the ECW, or will other ranges draw your attention?

My PhD was on 17th Century literature and nonconformist sects (yes, i really am that interesting...) so I developed a bit of an interest in the civil wars.  I've got something of a non-linear mentality though, so I'm sure I'll end up deviating.  My other (current) project is painting 15mm sci fi figures for Laserburn.  And then last night I was working on some 1988 vintage Space Orks for Rogue Trader.
