Bath born and bred but emigrated to Sarf East Lunnon three decades ago as a mere stripling to seek my fortune.

still looking! :D

You weren't the only one leaving the West Country to seek fame and fortune in the metropolis. Main difference is - I've given up.

Hi Urbancohort

Actually I did it the other way around emigrating from SW London to Somerset some 19 years ago and I know which way I 'd rather do it!

All the best anyway.

Cheers Paul

Married a local girl and my kids all talk like teh locals. Gone Native now I guess. Visit the old place and get sentimental when I have drunk too much but don't REALLY want to go back, but DO have a soft spot for things like The Monmouth Rebellion, Somerset and Dorset Railway and Cider....
One should try everything in life, except for incest and folk-dancing....

Born in Chelsea, raised in Somerset, lived all over the world, back in Somerset.

I blame the cider. And the totty.  ;)

Oh - and I'm doing Sedgemoor at the moment. I work about 4 miles from the battlefield  8)
