Plenty of stuff on Plants / Foods potentially Toxic or harmful to animals via Google. Can be a bit confusing and 'Dosages' seldom mentioned. just 'blanket ' info.
Speaking of which, have seen comments from various sources which would seem to indicate that several commonly available pet Treatments for Fleas, etc... 'May' be toxic to Cats, Esp.
No Idea about how accurate... may be 'mis-information' according to someone's 'agenda'? Some do that.  :(

Household 'Cleaning Products' are Nasty Stuff, too... We've seen the Ads for a quick Wipe with X... If it 'lifts' grease / kills Bugs, CAN'T be good for anything / anyone?

Or Flyspray! Or...  Air Freshener... scented candles... deoderant... A LOT depends on Ingestion / exposure levels.

Possible 'point' taken, though! lol.  ;) :) :)

I'm allergic to wet whipes, discovered during a recent marshalling session using them to clean seats between occupants, without gloves.

Last couple of weeks, my eyes have 'Been Bad' to varying extents. No Covid symptoms that I can tell.... so Think that a recent change of wash powder might be cause. Nearly finished the box! LOL!  ;D

Never used to get Hayfever from Pollen... but people change. Of course, it could be from 'something else'!  ;)

Rhododendrons... not sure whether leaves are poisonous... but probably. There was a Fantasy Novel: 'The Company' K J Parker, in which a character attempts to use Honey from Rhrodoendron flower as a toxin... usnsure.
Of course, crushed Laurel leaver were used in the killing jars of bug collectors... cyanide? Hence no competiton from below.
I 'like' Rhodies but 'dislike' Laurel... just Me! lol.

Incidentally, for 'darker', more 'twisted' fantasy novels, K J Parker and Joe Abercrombie are 'fantastic'!. lol.

They definitely are......especially if you've got a lower I Q than a chicken, and are prepared to scoff 'lots'...(I'm referring to sheep, here.)

Other vegetation that you 'd be surprised at (for horses.....).....a surfeit of Sycamore seeds....acorns.....Laburnum seeds...etc.

Fortunately there are no oak trees, out here.....but plenty of laburnams....AND sodding sycamores, which grow like weeds.

Every few years I have to rake up barrow loads of sycamore seeds from the fields, to stop the equines ingesting handfuls of those with the grass, from the fields.

Wonder if there might be a place for a 'Sticky'... a sort of 'Countryfile'. with 'Do's & Don'ts such as for example, postings on :
Do not feed the animals...risks to their health
Provide Water for Hedgehogs in warm.. but Not milk
Things not to let your dog do in the country
Etc.

Other things of interest could interest some members.
Events and activities.
Historic activities
Naturalism in general ... even Naturism... well maybe NOT! lol.
Kit to take when hiking, boating, camping
Etc.

Just a thought?

Not a bad idea. :)

I know there's already a reasonable amount of interest from various folk regarding our avian friends in the garden.

Cheers - Phil. :)

Gut feeling would be to put it in 'Chat & News', as another sub-folder ?

Cheers - Phil. :)

And now I can't decide what to watch:

- Blandings
- Strike Back - Vengeance
- Sucker Punch
- Get Shorty / Be Cool / Jackie Brown / Out of Sight (I'm on an Elmore Leonard reading buzz)
- Firefly / Serenity

Thoughts?

Sucker Punch
"I like coffee exceedingly..."
 H.P. Lovecraft

"We don't want your stupid tanks!"
Salah Askar,

My six degrees of separation includes Osama Bin Laden, Hitler, and Wendy James

Firefly, way better than Sucker Punch ... though I feel we are little late to influence Nik's viewing choices :)
