Recently bought some plastic figs from a Great Guy on another forum. had quite a chat. Edward Woodward,  (as 'Wicker Man' ), came up.
Gentleman worked in an Edinburgh Hotel while Edward Woodward was staying. Saw E W was 'working' on a RHA battery and struck up chat! Did errands for paint. On departure, E W called him to room and thanked him with Hotel Manager present.... and gave him a hand painted figure and a 'tip' for nearly 3 wks wages!

Always liked Edward Woodward in his roles as Callan and The Equaliser, etc. The Callan Film DVD has an interview which is refeshingly 'normal'. Seems like a really nice bloke!
RIP, Sir.

Hadn't heard about table and figs... rather 'hope' true!

Not to mention a cracking "cameo" in Hot Fuzz.

Raider4

Two terrific movie performances in "The Whicker Man" and "Breaker Morant", otherwise a fine talent on TV.

I'm still involved in arguments about that.
I contend that Woodward's part in Hot Fuzz was a reverse-Homage to his Wicker Man role.

In my memory the greatest attribute by far of the Callan film was Catherine Schell  :D

Now I have to go watch "Moon-Zero-Two" again.

Catherine Schell WAS a very acceptable substitute! But very little screentime!  Lisa Langdon 'was' 'Liz' in TV series... had 'her own' episode... and 'even took her...'  ;)... but nothing to see... quite rightly! FAR too much of 'that sort of thing'  on TV, nowadays! lol!  ;D  I Must be getting Old!  :(  ;D

Hope you both have a great day.   :)

* It certainly caused a sudden panic in my mind as I checked when I was married.  :-[

Thank you Gents. :)

No...we won't be doing anything special....We never, ever, do.
It's usually truly amazing if just one of us remembers.

I still remember our first anniversary, when the phone rang, early on a Sunday morning, getting me out of bed.... It was my dear old Mum...."Congratulations, Phil.".....Eh what ? :-\

The nearest we got was on our 25th. As Von worked on the 'computer side' of Concord, she always fancied having a flight on that 'old bird'.
At that point, Concord was doing a 'fly around the UK...and be home for tea.'...But we never got around to it.

Seeing as flying is such a total phobia of mine....I'm glad we didn't. ;)

Cheers - Phil :)
