Hello All

I've been looking around to see what ideas I can steal err... borrow for an encounter game.

So far I've found:-

Death Rays of War - A Flames of War variant with stats for aliens http://www.danmassey.com/?postid=20

Fistful of Tripods - A fistful of TOWS variant for War of the Worlds which covers from late 19th Century to 1990s (pdf link) http://fft3.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Tripods.pdf

Mars Attacks (Playtest Rules) - A new kickstarter project - (pdf link) http://www.manticblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Mars-Attacks-Playtest-Rules.pdf

Anybody come up with any others for me to have a look at?

Cheers

You could combine FWC with BKC quite easily.

Or even just use FWC as it stands. Treat the White Russians as Primitive tech level and the Aliens as Advanced (unless of course you mean "ALIENS" Aliens).

may be Mutants adn Death Ray Gun from ganesha games (SBH engine)

I own the rules but didn't have time to play. ( I like SBH and DSLB )

Hi All

Thanks for the replies. Still thinking and having a look around to see what's available. Might have a look at Quadrant 13 if I can find anybody that has it, to see how easy it'd be to bolt bits on to other TFL rules.

Sunray - No, not 'Aliens' type aliens, more of a lightly armed but well armoured scientific party that has crashed in the midst of Back of Beyond warfare. More of a 'The Good, The Bad and The Weird' type feel.  :D

Grumpy, you keep calling me "Sunray", is there something I should know?

sunjester

Pressed Post too soon there. :-[

I was going to say I've also got Q13 rules because I've a load of 10mm sci-fi that I want to get some use out of. I haven't played them yet, but reading through I think they would be more suited for futuristic sci-fi like Terminator, Battletech or Star Wars, rather than a slightly upgraded War of the Worlds that you seem to be after. I must admit I keep getting tempted with tripod aliens for a 1920s invasion, but I want to decide on a ruleset I like before buying the invaders.

Did Nik developed (or being working) in a sort of pulp-steampunk Commander?

That would be amazing, if it is ended I will play it, for sure !

Hello Graham (not James)

What, you want me to buy, paint, game, blather and read details too!!!!!  :-[

There goes my theory that the world can get by on just reading the first three letters of any word  :o :o

I don't know if there was any more work done on it but the page http://steampunkfwc.pbworks.com/w/page/32245547/FrontPage hasn't shown any updates, but still a rich vein of ore to plunder  ;D ;D.
