My question is, has anyone seen 'free' rules being of any use? I thought I'd just need to fork out for a black powder book or something else, but if it's free then surely can't harm anyone haha

Black Powder is to wargames rules as Vanilla is to Ice Cream.

Really doesn't matter whether your playing Nappys/ACW/Colonial its all just yet another game of Black Powder, do yourself a favour and save the price of it. Go on Ebay and do a search for Washing the Spears, I believe thats the period/conflict that youre looking for.
