Getting the rules tomorrow and was wondering how they handle multi figure based stands and are they adaptable for Falklands war and other periods say Vietnam etc

Multi based figures seem to be no problem at all as long as you can track losses - Minibits dice/frames are ideal for this (!!). Leaders may be better as singles but again, as long as you only count the one figure on a multi figure base, I wouldn't see a problem.

More modern conflicts, there are quite a few ideas out there and I think it should be very possible. I'm looking at a hard sci fi version and I'd also like to try something to recreate SF operations in Vietnam, but I think it is early days yet for that sort of thing.

I would think the only thing to be careful of when using WW2 set for moderns is not get carried away with 'M16=Assault Rifle' etc, because WW2 sets give such weapons a distinct bonus, but casualty figures haven't actually gone up much/at all in proportion.

You'll need your leaders singly based - or at least know its '1 person' for sake of rules.  Also you can swap people between teams, or create ad hoc ones, so you'll need to think about that.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

It's possible to use multi figure basis but after 2 games doing it that way I bit the bullet and painted a couple of individually based platoons. It plays much better individually based and us well worth the effort in my opinion. Multi figure bases just don'tgive yYouTube flexibility you need for proper fire and manoeuvre tactics and in CoC individual man placement really does matter.

Cheers for the advice guys. I've got the rules and agree single based figures is the way to go as in my Falklands war games I can group the GPMGs into a single squad like they did.I'm also thinking of Special forces games using a map of the Falklands for the patrol phase then moving on to the table. Not sure about force points .
