Could I but a request in for Pz 35t and a PzBefehiswg II command tank for early war Germans.

Leon

Pz 38t is in the range, it's code GR128 on the website.  I'll add the Pz II command to the list.

The earlier 35t is the one requested.

What did the Pz II command look like not come across that one before, presumably similar the the Artillery observer version.

Checked von Senger und Etterling - no mention of a command version of the Pnz II, and I've not heard of one.

I'm with ianrs54 - never come across mention of a Pz II command tank. Pz I and PzIII command tanks but not Pz II.

The 'Encyclopedia of Tanks' by Duncan Crow and Robert J. Icks mentions a 1935 'PzBefWgRhB' command tank under the entry for the Pz II. Supposedly with 37mm gun and 2x MG. If it existed, it's a rare beast, indeed! Searching for it gives you exactly one hit on Google... Looks like a wrong reference to the first marks of the Pz III, I'd say.

But surely Mick will know what he had in mind?

Incidentally, in the early years, the Pz II was intented as the command tank for a platoon of Pz I's, but AFAIK this was the normal version, not a special one.

Sounds more like the command version of the 35t, which did exist, to me
I think in German docs the 35t and 38t were described as PzII or PzIII as that's what they were being used in the place of.

According to wwiivehicles.com, 200 Pz II Ausf B chassis were modified to Command versions. 96 were available for the invasion of Poland

EDIT - you have to click on the "Variants" or "Production" tabs

And here's a few pictures

Is that the one?

Well there you go! Not something I've ever seen before and not mentioned in any of the books I have on German armour.

I need to upgrade my library!!

So its just a command cupola upgrade, very easy conversion.

As I said to Leon few days ago, a WWII german army without Schwimmwagen is like cheese without red wine !  ;)
I propose to add a Scwimmwagen to the requests list.
