£4.47 per plastic figure.

I'd say that's certainly an epic example of urine extraction.

It gets better too.

£130 for 8 models.  http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440005a&prodId=prod1930002a

I was a bit worried there for a second, I thought the value of Sterling must have crashed. False alarm.

These are "normal" GW prices. I am sure Leon and Daving have preordered some Champagne (Volvic to be precise) to celebrate the latest nonsense from Nottingham.

94 effing quid for 41 resin Shicecast lumps of crap (pardon my English)!!!!! Not to mention the "Repair Kit" you are supposed to buy to actually put the minis into the state they should be delivered in!

Approximately 5 quid in casting cost for those (I assume GW can buy a good Resin at roughly 1/3 of the price I can). But I was faster than you, I placed a Minibit order on Thursday :D . Would have been here today if the mailman had come  :-\

GordonY

BUT you have to remember that they produce the finest miniatures in the world..........................

Unfortunatly they are the market leaders (in pricing at least) and when Joe Bloggs starts casting his lumps of sh*te sorry, finely detailed minis, he thinks thats the price he should be asking. GW is single-handedly driving 28mm gaming into the deck, £4.47 for a plastic foot figure, thats insane, I can get 2 Nuns mounted on a Harley in metal for that.

GW will never see another of my pennies.  :D :D :D :D That thought makes me a happy bunny.

Maybe these are the motorized ones that can march for themselves and are full of nano technology and all nice and....... oh wait they are failcast.

Never mind  ;D

This makes me sad. Nothing says ripp off more then 21 plastic soldiers for double the price i pay to fill my car's tank for a month.

Luddite

You can fill your tank for a month for £45?!

where can i get the fuel you're buying!   ;D

Well, i drive a small car ( chevrolet spark) and i actually only use my car to go to work (22 km there and back  :D ) and go gaming about 15km away from home. If it wasn't for all the damn traffic jams on the way all the time, i bet i could make it last longer. Fuel in belgium costs about 1,68 €/liter, don't know what it costs there...

:D :D :D

Yes. As I said, only now? It has always been the nature of the GW beast as far as I am aware. I remember 60p a mini when that was a fortune.

My god! They fought in Russia??? That's not stated in the normandy sourcebook!!!    =P~ =P~ 8-} 8-} 8-} :O)

That's just ridiculous.  We've mentioned this in previous discussions, but they have such a lack of originality now, that all they can do is produce higher priced models and hope people buy them.  Profit margins may increase, but actual sales will go down.  Once the Hobbit surge has expired, where do they go next?  I'm surprised they haven't managed to get their claws into Game of Thrones yet.

Actually, with all the successful Kickstarters we've seen in the past year, Reaper, Dwarf Forge, Mantic, why isn't someone at GW headquarters looking at these idea's and looking to produce something similar?  The latest Mantic one with modular Sci-Fi terrain would be an easy area for GW to get into with their spending power.  If you don't have the ability to come up with the idea's yourself, at least follow the trends to try and claim a share of the market.
