Hi all

After watching the new Hobbit movie I've been caught to restart my Warmaster armies I left in the basement long time ago...

I am looking at 2 possible 1.500 armies: Lizardmen and Tomb of Kings.

What I would like to do is mix some Pendraken units with the GW figs due to cost of original material from GW but I need some advise on them....

1- I would like to see pics of stands made of Undead Cavalry. I saw a raw picture of an undead figure but need to see how they look like once painted. Anyone is doing similar army?
2- The other army that caught my attention is the lizardmen. I saw Pendraken has a range of lizards but did not see any picture. Anyone could help me with relationship between units in WM and the range from pendraken? Any pics of Lizardmen units from Pendraken?

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas!

Note: I ordered to Santa to update Pendraken website store with all  the  nice photos for the miniatures range to speed up taking decission and delight the eyes of buyers!  :P    ;D ;D ;D

The Pendraken lizard men are really nice, I have lots, which I need to get painted.

See this thread for photos of most of the ranges http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,5062.0.html (there are both lizardmen and tribal lizardmen)

The two figures that Pendraken don't cover are salamanders and the Slaan - I ended up getting these from GW as I only needed a few packs so the total price wasn't too bad.

Hi Cranko

I have a Warmaster Lizardman army using almost all pendraken figures. There are two ranges of Lizards in the Pendraken range, and one is more recent. I have used a mix of the two. I can't remember which codes I used though.
I have only used four figs to a 40 x 20mm base as that was the amount that fitted easily.  It looks ok on the table and makes a cheap unit at 12 figures

General- Used Lizard on Tortoise
Wizards/Shaman  - Specific pendraken code

Skinks - Used Lizards without shield
Saurus - Used lizards with shields
Terradons - Their is a fluer with a lizard on it in the range, they also do flying dinosaurs which I use as well
Cold One riders - FTL 10 I think.  I aslos use some Irregular Miniature ones for variety. Nowhere near as nice
Stegadon- I used the GW one for this. Still avaliable
T-rex - I used the GW one for this - still available
Salamanders - I managed to get a pack of the GW ones, but another thread discussed this and Pendraken do some dinosuars that will suffice, although again they are still avaliable

I wanted Bolt throwers and Catapults so just ask Leon nicely and he will supply one from the other ranges with the appropriate crew
Chariots - Irregular Mins again.
Kroxigur - I ise 15mm lizards from Alternative Armies - but any other 15mm range that takes your fancy is fine
Temple guard - Again I would look for some nice 15mm ones. Magister Militum do some nice Crocadilian lizards.

Happy to ping you some photos if you contact me via the message board with your email address.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much.... i see possibilities with pendraken for some lizards... ;)

What about the undead cavalry? Are they equal suitable for Tomb of Kings armies?

What I realized for the infantry and bowmen is they have short bows and infantry only one posse... am I right?

Swill

The bowmen do have short bows and the infantry do have one pose.  Here is a picture of some sword and shield along with spear men though they are individually based.  Sorry I don't have any cavalry, otherwise I would grab a photo.

They are only 1 pose in the Undead range, but there are some type 2 variants for the swords and spears further down the listings: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Fantasy-c21/Undead-sc170/

Your mind has to blank out all the Keystone Cops style bullshit in the Goblin Town scenes somehow or else you'd go mad - hence lizardmen

I have compiled a mapping of Warmaster Lizardmen troop types to non-GW figures:

most of the above are from Pendraken. Happy to receive comments & suggestions
