They look lovely

I'm interested in what rules you use because you've based yours the same as mine

Therefore I'll hazard a guess at either 1870 or Future War Commander

mollinary

Some Warmaster variant?

Good guesses all - first they'll get a run-out with FPWarmaster (PDF here: http://www.nick101.f9.co.uk/rules/Docs/Franco%20Prussian%20Warmaster.pdf ) and then, maybe, with Black Powder - from some fella or other...here: http://lasthussar.wordpress.com/2010/02/19/franco-prussian-war-scenario-for-black-powder/ )  ;) :D

I've based these on larger bases though - everything on 50x30mm.

They really look fantastic, love the daytime pics!!!

Very nice, another thread to add to my 'Do you have a picture of...' query list!

In between finishing these & getting a start on a new commission, as well as researching colours for the Prussians, I've painted up both French & Prussian in 2mm - these will be for the *huge* battles - which I will then 'zoom' in on for 10mm actions...maybe I should get some 28mm too for zooming in further - to skirmish level!  :)

In case you're interested - pics of my 2mm armies are now on my wiki:

Amazing stuff!

My friends and I use a rule set called Mr Lincoln's War for our ACW battles. The writing could be organized a bit better , but it really does give an excellent feel for the time period.

I might see about using FPWarmaster with the Rebs and see how it works.

Cheers!

Glad he sorted out those flags - good to see he really is mortal. Where are those Germans? Won't be long before they arrive now that the French are out of bed.

WRT Rules - I've done this extensively in Volley and Bayonet but more recently with Black Powder and have developed some rule adaptations for the period 1859 to 1871. For me they provide a very workable game at the operational level with each base representing a batallion - so big hands and small map time fellas - "We are going to move here, here and here. Got that? Right let's go."

Anyway, back to the Harwood abuse system ... gaiter buttons are all upside down, collar piping is missing and as for those moustaches! But, I must say they are all rather good - ouch just broke a rib saying that.

You missed the third figure from the left has been painted with the wrong time on their watch! :)
Seriously though, I cannot wait to see what Nik does with Prussians, as I have just reached the piping stage on my latest batch, and I'm dreading it!
Wish I'd bought the winter campaign in great coats now, they look so much easier than all the detail on the French packs and no kepi bands!...  ;D

If you follow that logic you could wind up with a pair of Action Men for single combat!  :D
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
