I was thinking the same.
I'd still back a 12pdr against a Vickers light.
I'd probably back a kid with a catapult against a Vickers light.

Finished off my Wurttemberg Napoleonics today.  :D

10 line bttns, 4 light, 4 lt cav regiments and 3 batteries: 792 infantry, 160 cavalry, 6 guns and 23 staff/ADCs.

Brunswickers done (512 inf, 92 cav, 4 guns and 11 staff/adc)
British done (1140, 420, 14, about 40 staff)

Started on the Prussians. Just the Guard so 420 infantry, 80 cavalry, 4 guns and a dozen or so staff/adc.

Then the Polish (720, 140, 6 guns) and Bavarians (735, 160, 6 guns) bought and ready to paint.

Currently in the way of buying the Austrians (648, 160, 8 guns) then  just the Russians (648, 160, 12 guns).

So might a Russian female Shot putter disguised as a Nun!  ;D

Now... had thought to Google up a pic... disrespectful and in bad taste... but 'humerous', maybe?  Failed to apply, again!
BUT... 'Oh, My sainted Aunt'... 'Some' Female 'Track and Field' Athletes... (Nationalities uncertain)... were NOT what I was expecting! Absolute 'Stunners'!  :o 8)

Was that the famous female Russian Shot-putter, Anna Bolyck-Steroid ? (Private Eye.....From MANY years ago.) ;)

Cheers - Phil. :)

As it's been all over the news recently......

If you were given a ticket, for free, would any of you go up in one of these new, commercial, 'trips into space' ?
Seeing as I'm phobic about even getting on a plane......I just couldn't make myself do it.......(SHUDDER !) X_X

Cheers - Phil. :)

Steve J

Probably not as it's still very new technology. If it were more like getting on a passenger plane, then no problem at all, given that the view would hopefully be incredible.

No. Just don't see the point. Might as well get an 'all Routes' Bus Pass or Railcard.

Yeah, I really don't like flying, but that's more to do with truly horrible experience you recieve at airports nowadays, and the generally appalling behaviour of both budget airlines and other passengers. Hint - if you can't actually lift your bag I really don't think it qualifies as hand luggage . . . If I ever do win the lottery I'd like to think that I wouldn't go mad with houses and cars and boats, etc. But I would enjoy not having to travel in cattle class.

Back to the original question - yes, I'd jump at that like a shot if offerred. Either the Branson one or the Bezos version.

I'd sooner go to New York than the edge of space and the doctors aren't exactly ecstatic about my plans to do even that.
