We have that in the UK too, you can do it online or just call 101 and it's one of the options to report a social distancing violation. If it's small scale they'll likely not care but a big party they might send someone out.

In our village we have been told to use 101 for the anti-social behaviour of the local travellers - Throwing bricks at cars etc.   We have found it to be highly ineffective it gaining the police attention. You hang on the phone for 20 plus minutes, report it to a central office miles away and if your lucky a car is sent 3 hours later, and you get a call back that they could not see any problems.

We have found it far better to call 999 and report it as a crime in progress, then they have to attend urgently.  I would do the same for the party. Phone 999 and report it as a crime in progress.

This is now three weeks in a row that our neighbours have had a party, with no social distancing, more than one other family and being very loud to put it mildly. Sadly they are not the sort one would approach to have a gentle word about their behaviour :(.

Awww, Steve.....I'm sure you have everyone on the forum's sympathy.

Who's idea was it to feed her? ..... You do sound quite taken with her.
Don't feed her too much, she might deal with some of your rodents for you.

Have a guess.....It wasn't me. ;)....'She' is quite sweet, though still rather nervy.

No...definitely not going to overfeed her....The rodents in the barn could do with a predator out there.  ;)
There was a sodding great rat that 'someone' had killed yesterday......And if it had been the dogs, they'd have been parading around with it. ;D ;D

I did think of calling 101 but, as mentioned, by the time they 'might' arrive, the party would be over. Also with only 10-12 adults, albeit very loud, I very much doubt they would attend :(.

I've also reported a crime in progress before, in fact several times, and only once did the police arrive and that was due to it involving a knife.

Yeah such things tend to be down the priority list, unless it's a slow night.

Steve J

A Saturday night is highly unlikely to be a slow night :(. I feel sorry for the emergency srvices who are on weekend shifts, as it must be hell.

Techno

I think we all feel sorry for you, Steve !  :(

Hugs back, Steve.

With the appropriate distancing.

I believe "air hug" is the technical term

Steve J

Yep, the kids in school where my wife works have been taught to air hug.

It's a different world now. I don't remember hugging anyone, ever, when I was I school.

Steve....Don't know why it struck me this morning, but have you tried contacting the local council....
They should deal with 'noise pollution', on an ongoing basis. (I think)

It's been what ? Three (or four ?) weeks  on the bounce that you've had to put up with this ?

Might be worth giving them a quick bell ?

Just a thought.

Cheers - Phil

Thanks for the idea Phil. I might drop the local council a line or two and see if there's anything they can do or recommend.

Double glazing maybe ? To be fair I get the occasional abandoned car in our road, they shift them pretty quickly, so you may well get some help
