How many folk are using the various Field of Glory rules, and what do you think of them?  We've been approached to stock them, and wondered how popular they would be?

Read them but have not played.  Haven't honestly seen anyone play or run a FOG game.  Heard some guys from Louisiana complaining about the rules the other day but those guys complain about everything  :o

Go on then. I'll be the first to put my hand up and hence be the target of the jokes ;D

Horses for courses. Marmite or Bovril. I happen to like them others loathe them. I have both FoG Ancients and FoG Renaissance and IMHO they give for an accurate game. When FoG Napoleonics arrives it will also be on my to buy list.

I think you should stock them.
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Bought them, read them, gave them away!

Play frequently. Eaiser to read than WRG stuff, and play well.

They are ok - geared towards tournaments rather than scenarios

I can recommend the Cassivellaunus option for the Ancient British army - it's all chariots and skirmishers with only one warband which is elite impact medium foot and goes through most things like a dose of salts

I don't know anyone who does FOG Ancients in 10mm - it's either 15mm & 25mm

FOG R may well be different with regards to popular scales

Mixed opinions then...  hmmm...  Looking around, there seem to be a lot of them available second hand as well, could make it difficult to shift them at £25 a pop.

With so many free rulesets around these days, It'd have to be a damn good set of rules to convince me to shell out that kind of cash. That's a fair bit of lead.

Mind you - I'm a bit tight when it comes to rules  :P

Cheers,

I hate them. Gave mine away. Now most frequently use Impetus with ancients/medieval/renaissance - looks impressive with 60mmx30mm bases, rules are easy to understand and a proper conclusion can be reached, even with a large army, in 3 hours or under.
