Just finished the roman slingers, the converted ones blend in well enough!

Good and bad news today.

Went to the coast today, and there is a little toy store there. Every time i go there, i visit the shop. The guy has everything, from toys for the little ones, to boardgames, model kits and magic cards, all crammed into a space about as big as two living rooms.

When i passed the window this time, i noticed a poster saying: 20% discount, closing because of retirement. The place has been there as long as i can remember (i had a chat with the owner, and he told me the store has been there for 85 years!). Very sad to see it go! I have some fond memories of that shop! Always got revell models when we were on holidays there when i was little, bought my first magic cards there, and always loved browsing around in the treasures (and believe me, there were some old gems lying around there).

Wich brings me to the good news.

I had seen a blister of Boromir (mounted and on foot) from gw's old metal LOTR line in the window, and asked if he had anything else. Out came a scruffy little box, full of bisters and two boxes of the older metal ents. a few of the blisters were from the original LOTR games, and were loose models in little bags, as the gw blisters back in the day were notorious for being badly glued. He let me rummage through the box, in an attempt to identify the parts and pick out wathever i wanted (if i could complete the models )

In the end i got a nice score, and a nice price! (well still enough, but way less than buying from GW now!)

the loose models, gandalf the white foot and mounted, and the original Arwen mounted, carrying frodo.




Very happy with these, only thing i missed out on was the mounted fellowship version of boromir, as the model wasn't complete. was going to buy the whole box at first, but as i have so many LOTR stuff already, about half of the box woud have been duplicates. Only regret is that i didn't buy the second metal ent. I thought it was the same model, but upon closer inspection it appears you get a few different pieces so can make multiple variants. Oh well, good haul anyway!

It's a shame that yet another real games shop closes down!

Really happy with them, coming close to completing the collection! (well at least of what i want to have!)

As usual, when i get some new LOTR models, i just drop whatever i'm painting and start on those instead 

Got the ent done because it was such a cool model: (phone camera pics, but they'll have to do as the regular camera battery is dead)









Also flocked the bases on a bunch of moria goblins.
