So are you considering doing something along these lines then Leon?

We'll always consider something if the interest is there, but I must admit I was thinking along the Battletech lines, as I could see it being more commercially appealing than our own random creations.

As for the Ratte, I'd love one as well, I also mention the Maus to Dave at every opportunity...  :D

It's not just the tracks, also theres no logical reason for turret, if there is a logical reason for a walker anyway.
IanS

Of course there's not, but what's that got to do with cool minis and 'wierd wars' ;D

Looks like there are two potential ranges here - the 'Weird War' walkers from the original request, and the Battletech style.

For me, the Battletech is far too futuristic to be of use in Wierd War setting, and from a personnal opinion of no interest. Also there are usually ample plastic Battletech style figs on evil-bay scaled for 10mm.

Weird War just makes me grin :D

A friend just started on the 'Secrets of the Third Reich' rules, he wants to play in 28mm. I'm not very keen to go down that road, but 10mm would be an option for me.

I think that for 'Weird War II' I'd agree with Luddite/Squirrel. Avoid the Battletech look, but stick with something that looks cobbled together from existing Panzers.

The westwind models are really nice sculpts, but there 28mm and the priceing is equaly large.

Actually the prices arent that bad if you buy them from Maelstrom etc.

20 Zombies, £18 including the P&P, so 90p a figure isnt that bad, also as its a game based around about 30 figures a side, again, its not too bad. Its only when you start looking at the Tiger mech or the Russian Spider tank that it gets really painful at £36

There used to be plastic walkers - Magister Militum (duks fast) had them. Intended to be 28mm, but could use the legs.

The siily German stuff - 20mm conversions should work. You may need two chasiss to do it.

I own loads of WW SoTR figures and would have to partially disagree with you. If you can assemble them without resorting to loads of greenstuff, hours spent filing etc then yes most are pretty good, but sadly WW's quality control is frankly appalling. I have had packets turn up without bases, heads, limbs, weapon sprues, broken figures. Thankfully these have all mostly been rectified relatively quickly and without too much fuss.

There are also scale issues with some of the newer figures coming out - either too slender/thin or too portly. Clearly lots of different designers. As far as SoTR goes as a set of rules I ditched them as an idea long ago and am working on my own version. The new range figures whilst good are let down by quite frankly very poor imagination when it comes to rules. Too many things are replicas of what other forces have in their list and the nations are becoming quite samey, samey.
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Nosher the only problem ive seen is with the Incursion minis and the SOTR minis.  And i think your right they have different sculpters.

Ive only got british SOTR atm and the rat mech is still boxed up, i havent even thought of building it yet, it scares me.

Having spent some merry moments assembling some WW1 heavy arty - it occurs to me that those lovely segmented big wheels [on the big guns] would look great on some Weirdy War stuff too...

Hi, im putting together a load of kit for WWWII 10mm, this may help you:

Krahe (Crow) Heavy Mechanised Walker (1) £3.00 from http://www.majicminiatures.com/page_1186521540211.html - I have some, they fudge as a small walker and come with a few different weapons.

They also do a Roswell UFO (Roswell UFO  (1/285 Scale) £5.00) that will fudge for a Haunebu Nazi flying saucer.

I will upload a load of images of what I have so far and where to get it over the next week or so at http://theolivant.pbworks.com/w/page/40148764/10mm-WW2-Weird-Wars

Hope that helps, if not a little delayed response....
