Based and undercoated my ECW/TYW individual command figures and casualty/disorder markers. Had hoped to make a start on painting these but got distracted by the Olympic Ladies Rugby and Ladies Handball.......... :-[
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Having moaned about FOG earlier (not the Phil kind), I have discovered 'To the Strongest', ancient and medieval rules which use a 6" square for movement, similar to many of Peter Pig's RFCM rules. I discovered this by being pointed towards the author's site, where he also sells Deepcut mats, which can be ordered with or without fine lines delineating the squares. Currently he is selling 5'x3' northern European fields mat in 6"/15cm squares on sale at £31.99. This can be found at:

http://bigredbatshop.co.uk/collections/all/products/fields-design-battle-mat-5-x-3-15cm-grid

Amongst other things, very, very useful for early war Square Bashing.

Having played both 'To the Strongest' and 'FoG' I would happily play To the Strongest again but have sold on my copy of FoG. To the Strongest does play differently to most other ancient sets of rules, units die quite quickly, but then large battles is what the rules are aimed at. I made my own gridded playing mat from an old green sheet adding a bit of spray paint and some black lines.
