Heavy cossacks should be flogged and put on a diet. Think of those poor ponies. :-S

There was a regulation in Russian service that a Cossack hetman received a standard belt, and was in trouble if he grew too fat to wear it.

Are you going with yellow or ochre, FK?
The artist formerly known as Dour Puritan!

FierceKitty

It cost me some soul-searching, but there seems plenty of evidence for yellowish, so I'm using a mixed colour, half chrome yellow, half yellow ochre. Shall post in a day or two.

BTW, any evidence for preferred official horse colours in Hungarian hussar units? I've got a fair idea of the Prussian ones, but perhaps the Magyar units were a bit more in touch with the wild steppe horseman tradition....

Really don't know. I tend to go with lighter colours for light cavalry and darker for the heavies.

Last of my poplars based up and ready to paint for Langensalza. A mere 69 tiny trees. No.70 is being kept back as a cypress to decorate SL's 3mm Italian village.

I've slipped back to the AWI/FIW in 15mm as part of trying to finish off my most recent purchases so I can plan my next project.

Today I knocked out three 8 man groups and leaders of French Marine Infantry and a six man group plus leader of Colonial Rangers. I also got around to single figures for units in the pipeline, including a British Light Infantryman, a few Injuns, a few test figures for a couple of new Continental/State Line units and a French Grenadier.

When that little lots done I really do need some Highlanders to round off my options for the period but not liking the lack of poses in the Blue moon range so need to look for some alternatives.
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Jaeger complete. The general staff are a bit fiddly, of course, since the Prussian top echelons, unlike the Austrians, did not have a prescribed uniform. But they'll be done soon too.
