I love Honours of War and find it's really easy to pick up after not playing it for a while. I wish the same could be said of BP and other rulesets :(

Bodvoc

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Dragon Rampant.
2) What armies were confronted? - My 15mm barbarians against my 15mm beastmen
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - yes, quick easy rules.
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No, several games played now at least.
5) How many players were in the game? - 4, two on each side with 36 AP a side

The beastmen had to get across the table to their lair in an old mine; the barbarians had to stop them. The beastmen only managed to get one unit to safety, Mighty Bodvoc, the Barbarian leader managed to kill a Wyvern before he was taken out by a pesky magic user and  :)some armoured beastmen whose luck at rolling 6's with their mystical armour was unbelievable! They threw six 6's out of seven attempts! This was the first time Bodvoc had been 'slain' but he will rise again!
Dragon Rampant is a really fun game, perfectly suited for a group game, there was lots of laughter.

My good mate Chris has just been up for a short gaming day. We got in 2 games as follows...

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Dragon Rampant.
2) What armies were confronted? - My 15mm Barbarians v Chris's Pendraken Ratmen
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes.
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No.
5) How many players were in the game? - 2 with 24 AP a side

One of those strange games where I easily scored most 'Glory Points', thus supposedly winning yet Chris wiped my Barbarians out whilst he still had 3 units left? We called it a draw.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Deadzone.
2) What armies were confronted? - Forgefathers v Enforcers (all supplied by Chris)
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - yes, quick easy rules.
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No, but first game with the much improved 2nd edition. They give a cleaner faster moving game with less clutter.
5) How many players were in the game? - 2

I was determined not to like this as I do not need another new game...but I liked it and now need another new game! I think Chris let me win and he has 'kindly' lent me a spare rulebook; he knows how to get me hooked.
A great few hours of gaming with one of my best mates.

2. FIW French with Indian and Canadian Militia Allies v Provincial 'British' Forces
3. Absolutely
4. No
5. Solo

A savage battle on a table littered with woods, hills, swamps and rocky outcrops.

Both sides skirmish units (French Chasseurs, Canadian Milice v Settlers and Frontier skirmishers) really dominated the game especially in the woods and rocky outcrops. The Indians also had a good game drawing out the Provinicials and then mauling them in fisticuffs.

The Provincial Commander spent most of the game rallying off shock and as the game drew to a close with both sides equally battered the game ended in a draw. Casualties were horrendous on both sides.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - FogR
2) What armies were confronted? - my 10mm Tibetans vs Pete's 15mm Mapuche, a warm up game for Attack Doubles at Devizes
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - yes, it was to get Pete warmed up!
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - nope
5) How many players were in the game? - two

Great game, it ended up a 12-8 to Pete, I was one unit off breaking, but had taken his camp and had ruined his cavalry wings while holding his heavy infantry line up with two light horse units and sone slingers!  :d

4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 4, one of which was new to the game.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Wargaming 19thC Europe
2) What armies were confronted? - Red vs Blue
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes (see below)
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - First run through
5) How many players were in the game? - Solo

Given it was my first game, it all ran very smoothly and incredibly easy to pick up. I used the mini game with 5 units a side on a 2'x2' table, which was perfect. Next up will be a bigger game, using the 1st Schleswig-Holstein War as a basis for the forces.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Repique II
2) What armies were confronted? - Federal v Confederate
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Still getting to grips with the mechanisms
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 6

Some nice innovative ideas in these rules, operating on a divisional scale and then telescoping down to brigade scale. As it is playing card driven moves, actions and sequencing are random. Firing is ineffectual but regimental columns are deadly. Some of our players liked the divisional scale, but the telescoping in and out made it feel as though it was two sets of rules trying to be one. Probably a set of rules for the shelf, but I may dip in to it for ideas and mechanisms.

Three games yesterday. First I drove to mate Chris's house where we played Dragon Rampant. His ratmen narrowly defeating my barabrians in a close fought game. Bodvoc and his brave warriors had to run around the battlefield trying to fill in lots of ratholes before the ratmen came running out. A good and amusing scenario devised by Chris.

What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Dragon Rampant
2) What armies were confronted? - 15mm Barbarians v Ratmen (24 points per side)
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - very
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? -2

Next up we had another go at Deadzone with me having rapidly painted up an Enforcer squad over the past few days. Chris narrowly won this game too!

What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Deadzone
2) What armies were confronted? - Orcs v Enforcers
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Mainly yes, particularly as Chris knows them so well.
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - second
5) How many players were in the game? - 2

Then I drove up to Bentham to see my gaming pals thee for a large game of Dragon Rampant. Here my 28mm LOTR elves took on a mighty 28mm Wolfen army and soundly thrashed it!

What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Dragon RampantI
2) What armies were confronted? - 28mm Elves of Lothlorien v Wolfen (36points per side)
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - yes
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 5

The weather made it all very hot work but 3 very enjoyable games despite all the driving.
Next up, 15mm ECW using Baroque hopefully this Sunday.

1, SP2 FIW scenario 2 of a campaign I am working on
2. French Marines (debut outing) with Indian and Canadian Support v Regular British with Ranger support
3. Very
4. No
5. Solo

The British were moving up supplies in typically challenging terrain - the French were attempting to stop them.

The British secured a hefty win although the Indian allies performed well some very unlucky runs of cards meant the British were ably to deploy pretty much unchallenged and wait for the French to make their moves. When they did repeated volleys did the necessary damage.

This was the second of a series of scenarios I am hoping to pull into a pint-sized campaign. Playtesting the scenarios to iron out any issues and so far no major issues.

Nosher

1. Warband
2. Undead V Hill Dwarves
3. Unusually no - haven't played for a while and hadn't realised how much I had forgot, but picked it up once I started playing again. My deployment was awful which led to a very simple victory for the stumpy people
4. No
5. Solo

Last minute game before I am starved of wargaming whilst away on holiday with the family.

Hefty victory for the stumpys due to an awfully poorly thought out deployment by the undead.
