Started my Picts at long last.
Too many other big projects over the last year. So time for another one!  =O
Or this is as far as I got before I ran out of bases!!!

Seven bases of cavalry, sixteen bases of spears, four of javelins, twelve bases of skirmishing archers. Not sure how this lot will turn out, but it will be fun. Did I ever mention I can't stand painting irregulars... D'oh!

I paid for em, about time I did something with em!

So, you base them, and then you paint 'em?

How does that work?

I can't paint round corners!

Look at those cavalry bottom left. How do you get to the boots/saddle cloths?

I can't paint straight on.

00 brush and ink washes are my friend!
Also, on a 30mm base there is quite a lot of space to manoeuvre.
And about 1/10 figures fall off due to glue errors, that always gives you more space. ;D

While I think about it, anyone got any suggestions what to use as Attacoti. Variously described as baked berserker types or chain mail clad uber nutters...

Now, you know I'm going to have to try this.  :D

I probably won't show the results on the forum.

Good to see you start on the Picts, I have a whole army bag to do at some point.
For the Attacoti you could use some of the fantasy barbarians or maybe Viking berserkers.

If the Attacotti are "baked berserkers" would those rare beings who were twice as hard as them be known as the "Biscotti"?

When I was basing minis up for Impetus I based them first - my problem wasn't so much the painting but the base texturing...

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Two more bases of spears assembled. All undercoated. Just got to start slopping paint about!
