Was in The Works on Princes Street in Edinburgh a couple of days ago and they had a basket of WW2 roughly 1/76 scale Russian tanks for £2.00 each.

They had IS-2, Matilda II, Lee/ Grant, SU-122, an armoured car I didn't recognise - maybe FAI or BA-20 - and a thing that looked like a command car and appeared to be labelled TACOM (didn't recognise it). All in Russian markings of dubious authenticity!

May be of interest to those dealing in rather bigger toys than I do these days.

There are also some larger vehicles 1:50 or thereabouts suitable for 28mm at £10 each. I've seen Crusader III but there are others including Puma.

On the website it shows a SOUMA S-35 and M13/40 at £10.

hi Ithoriel
These £2 vehicles are from a tank magazine (de agostini knock off)
From I think Russia there is a mix of WW2 and reasonably modern Soviet vehicles with the odd smattering of lend lease.
They seem to be a mix of metal and plastic.
The £2 vehicles are not up on their website only the larger £10.
Regards
Sean

The vehicles look to be 20mm and their T-34 matches quite well with my Armourfast T-34. The offer has been on for a couple of weeks, so stocks seem quite low. They are marked as £9 down to £2 and I think make good additions to the wargaming table, with relatively good detail and good proportions.

the body is die cast, with turrets gun typically being plastic, as are the add on field tanks on the SU 122. They come pre-painted. The tracks are a bit like the old airfix rubberised clip together efforts and are best given some extra superglue to lock them onto all of the wheels.

they do some larger models marked down from £30 to £10. I have only seen the puma, but it was a lovely model and very nicely painted.

No luck in Widnes (apparently).....Thanks for looking, Nobby.
(We'll find some, Mark)

I've reserved one of each of the tanks they have in Cardigan...and a couple of armoured cars.

As Matey in the shop couldn't tell me what they actually were...I'll get some piccies so I know what you're actually after, Mark...and buy any relevant ones.

Cor, their website is rubbish!

http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/die-cast-models/small-die-cast-military-tank/5060146324878 - should be the Soviet AC in 1/76th. Doesn't seem to appear in the category listings, and I only found it by accident off a "recently viewed" on another item!

http://www.theworks.co.uk/c/toys-games/die-cast-models - should be the other "heroic scale" stuff. There might be things missing, I don't know - their website is frankly weird!
