Do your eyes work properly, first thing ?

No problem with first thing, a little gritty but they function as they are supposed to.

I have a pair of glasses for looking for distance ie bus numbers more than 30 feet away, and reading glasses for painting and looking at shinies. Anything in between I am fine without my optical benefits. One thing, when I have an eye test I tell the nice man what my hobby is and roughly how far away from my eyes I hold figures to paint. He uses that distance for my reading glasses.

Apparently, a not uncommon medical thing is that as you get older and wear distance glasses your eyesight can recover somewhat, that's what the optician said to me last time.

My issue is painting and watching TV.  I have my tablet in front of me whilst painting and I typically chain boxsets I've seen before.  When I look up (occasionally) the delay in focus from mini to TV is quite pronounced and getting worse :(
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

No problem there for me. I don't/can't multi-task painting and TV, I get too easily distracted. Radio, however, is fine.

Long sighted since the year dot.

Just the opposite for me, Will......Shorter & shorter sighted from the age of 6....Seemed to settle down in my late teens, early twenties to the point where I could try contact lenses (the small, hard plastic version).......Mid thirties my eyes started changing shape ( :o...apparently !!) so the lenses were sloughing off the top layer of cells from my cornea (?) giving me constant problems !
Went to the opticians....."Well Mr Lewis, I've got some good news and some bad news.....The good news is that you won't have to pay for your eye tests anymore...The bad news is that's because you eyesight is so rubbish."

Reached the stage about 20 years ago that I began to have 'long sighted' as well as short sighted problems, which is why I rely so much on the optivisor nowadays.

Does anyone else have problems reading text on the PC, first thing in the morning ?
I certainly do !

Cheers - Mr Lazy Eyes. @-)

I can recommend using lubricant eye drops first thing in the morning to revive the old eyes. Eyes can get very dry.

And take a cod liver oil supplement. It'll take a while but should make a difference. Basically, lubricate the eyes with oil and water - as you would any equipment you regularly use for work  ;D. I can recommend Systane Ultra eye drops over cheaper Boots-own as it has a longer use-by period, has a less-waste dropper, more gel-like, bla bla...

Simple, cost-effective answer. Don't read text first thing, leave it until after you've had breakfast and at least one cup of tea.  :D
