Haven't watched Eastenders for decades.
But all over the radio this morning, 'they' were telling me that Lucille Ball had been murdered by Bobby Ball in some cliffhanger of a plot.
Is this correct......?

I thought Lucille Ball died years and years ago......And Bobby Ball a murderer ?
Sounds like the sort of convoluted storyline that Nobby would come up with.

Not sure Phil I have never watched Eastenders

Cannon and Ball murdered comedy for years so it might be true

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

I never watch it either - life is far to depressing anyway.

It's about time all the soaps were put on a Virgin or Sky sub channel so that I DON'T have to dodge them.

I can just imagine Bobby Ball's demeanour just before the fatal blow; curmudgeonly face, hands on hips and the famous words,"Eeh, I can't stand any more of t' useless Yankee non-humour!"

I get narked 'cos the programs I like are always put off because of some stupid sports thing, but the soaps are sacrosanct.

My idea then is to dump both sports and soaps onto one channel and watch the sparks fly.

Having said that, my first fiancee was a keen Corrie fan, with a very comfortable lap. I had many a gentle nap with that combination.

I used to watch Eastenders, around 30 years ago !  :-[ :-[
Never watched any of the others.
We'll have to do a list of what we won't watch...akin to Radio 4's "I've never seen Star Wars".

There are SO many I won't go near.
Cheers - Phil

I mainly watch American "cop" shows (the various flavours of NCIS, CSI and Law & Order plus things like Justified, Body of Proof, Person of Interest, Castle) and history items on Beeb 4 and Yesterday.

Amongst the endless "The Nazis, weren't they histories version of a car crash - horrible ... and fascinating" there have been some rather good Ancients period documentaries by the likes of Mary Beard, Alice Roberts and Bettany Hughes (the latter being thinking man's crumpet if ever there was!) on at "stupid o'clock in the morning."

Only soap I followed was The Archers but that's become worse than the TV versions so it only gets listened to when it comes on and I'm deep in a virtual dungeon or up to my eyes in paint and glue and don't want to go change channels.

My TV doesn't get sport on any of it's channels ... no, really .... look .... see ... Channel Unavailable .... what? ... what do you mean I deliberately typed in the wrong channel code ...   :-[ :d :d :d

Is that the one with 487 parts, irritating twee music and grating voice over?

Oh yes, it was.

Sorry, I tried it but was so up its own backside I couldn't take more than an episode.

I used to watch a lot of NHK World (the english-language version) Japanese news. The usual format was the top half of the hour would be news and the second part, factual programmes or documentaries.
Al Jazeera (English version) features some good factual programmes too. I watched a programme on the war between the Egyptians/Arabs and the Israelis a few months back. Lots of interesting 'historic' footage and it gave an unbiased view for both sides.
RT News (Russia Today) is a tad more Moscow-friendly. If they can bash the US, they will.

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

I like a good quiz program - University Challenge, Only Connect and Mastermind.

I watch AL Jazerra a lot now just for the ordinary news as the BBC no longer seems to cover world news anymore in any depth. I agree some of the documentaries on it are excellent
