I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Those British units look very impressive. The close up of the officer is fantastic.

Is that Harry Spotter?

Ridikulus!

But they're a credit to your painting, Paul, that they can stand that amount of close-up and still look good.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Excellent work - do you have a close up of the dismounted troopers, it would be good to see what kit they have?

Ta, that was quick!

They do have the leather bandolier which is very iconic for British Cavalry.

I can see my 1914 force expanding, again!

Progress delayed by compulsory attendance at a performance of Sound of Music (actually rather well done)

Must admit I did wonder about what if scenarios... any one know much about the Austrian army in 1938  ;)

Between 1918 and 1920, the Austrian semi-regular army was called Volkswehr ("People's Defence"), and fought against Yugoslavian army units occupying parts of Carinthia. It has been known as "Bundesheer" since then, except when Austria was a part of Nazi Germany (1938–1945; see Anschluss). The Austrian Army did develop a defense plan in 1938 against Germany[citation needed], but politics prevented it from being implemented.

Hopefully there is not too much chaff there.

The hardest part would be AFVs, there is a ADGZ available from Panzer Depot but it's fairly pricey. Haven't come across any 1/144 Skoda PAs. Here's a pic with ADGZs and TKSs(?)

IIRC  Von Trapp was in the KuK Marine in Ww1 and was a
successful u~boat commander.

Thanks for some interesting links, a fairly one sided contest if the German army had pushed past the initial defences by the look of it...

Peter, your recollections are correct according to Wikipedia ;) It appears that the show has been very kind to Maria  :o
