Once the green bases are dry (about noon) I will sort them for basing and then put the next batch on my painting rods and undercoat.

Will hopefully make some progress on a naval AAR report while I wait for them to dry  ;)

Current batch all sorted ready to base  :)

Next batch, two battalions of infantry, a machine gun battery and artillery spotter (all German), undercoated   :)

Draft of naval AAR with Peter for review  :)

The ships are those that took part in the action off Gotland in 1915.

German minelaying mission mugged by Russian cruisers as they returned to base.

The AAR of our naval game at Call to Arms can be found here, http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,10520.0.html

Some patchy progress on this project

Have base coated the current batch of German infantry and MGs  :)

Also based three of the four "battalions" of British from the last batch  :)

Will hopefully finish basing the British on Saturday and varnish on Sunday (forecast looks promising)  :) :)

May even get to do some painting on the Germans as well ;)

With that many British reinforcements it is probably a good time for Bowler to lauch a counter attack before I get this batch of Germans finished  ;)

OK looks like the retreat is finally over......Bowler's 26th brigade (and their new pals) have fresh orders taking them to the Franco-Belgian border near the channel coast to take back the strategic village of Dirstraat and Hill 960 from the German covering force made up from elements of VII Korps.

Now just need to write this up but will be exploring a few more aspects of the ITLSU rules shall we say.... ;)

PS...haven't forgotten your request Dour Puritan, just that things have been pretty busy here lately family and work wise.

Looks like my commission finally came thorough too.....I got my first pip! 8)

No worries. I've been experimenting with different ways of painting 1914 khaki. After several attempts with which I was unhappy I found a colour scheme on a 6mm site which uses Vallejo colours I would never have dreamt of, such as Green Ochre and German Cammo Beige. With washes and highlights it looks pretty good.

Congratulations on the promotion Peter :)

DP I used English Uniform as a base colour then dry brushed with one of three colours; Khaki, German Cammo Beige, Stone grey (not sure on last one from memory). One of each dry brushed on jacket, pants, puttees/cap with different combinations to give variety.
