It's a US SatNav-type thing, where you press a button on your satnav and this automated voice can help you out with directions and things.  It might do more than that these days, but I think that's how it originally started out.

Siri, is the voice activated help assistant in iPhones, you can talk  to it in normal language and it can do various tasks (on the phone) including  sending text messages, searching the internet, opening apps, runing timers, dictation etc

It's quite handy, but you have to get over the idea of talking to yourself...

Also, you can't have an accent or speech impediment, speak too quickly or too slowly, too high or too low, or ask about anything that ain't in the USA.

I exaggerate, and I'm sure it will get better.

It's already got a lot better.

But, it can't understand my children, they are clearly too squeaky. But they love to try it out constantly saying "open minecraft" and seeing what random events happen.
