Almost 600 views  :o :)

Have decided on the revised brown for the British labels, printed various test labels yesterday and will print the replacements today.

Finished the base colour of all the German horses last night. Managed to get the dry brush done on the Bays before leaving for work this morning  :)

Finished dry brushing all the German horses last night and managed to get manes, tails and socks done on the Bays this morning before heading off for work. I also did the hooves on all but but the Bays and Blacks.  :)

Finished all the German horses last night as well as the saddle blankets. Based coated and dry brushed the two guns and base coated the artillery crews and officers.  :)

Cut out the new artillery, Brigade HQ and signaler labels before heading out to work this morning.  :)

Rain forecast for the weekend so it doesn't look like the British will be varnished soon  :(

The revised British labels

I think they are improvement but interested in second opinions before I cut the rest out and glue any of them on.

The old labels for comparison

Much prefer the new ones. :)
Seem to 'fit in' with the bases much betterer. (sic)
At the end of the day though, Paul....They're your models....So go with the ones you like.

(Now tell me they're exactly the same....and it's just the lighting that's different.)  ;)

Strictly speaking Techno Paul's painting and basing them for me - in return I'm buying some PM 10mm WW1 Middle Eastern stuff for him once the 1914 stuff is done.

Having seen the Brits (before they were based up) I am very happy with how they have turned out.

And as the saying goes "the customer is always right"....or is it "the wife is always right"?   :-\

The new colour gets my vote as well.

An arrangement we are both very happy with  :)

From  my perspective I get to enjoy:
- painting these great figures  :)
- playing some WWI games to mark the centennial  :)
(a period I didn't think I would ever play, but Peter has found some great rules & show how we can avoid the trenches)  :) :)
- painting more great figures for the Middle East, including some representing my countrymen who fought there  :)
(one of whom I had the honour of knowing in his later years)  :)
- playing more WWI games and hopefully educating some people on our history :) :) :)

ITSLU - If the Lord Spares Us - WW1 brigade level rules aimed primarily at Middle East theatre but adaptable by east/west front by Too Fat Lardies

Title is a quote from:

"...Til we meet again, if the Lord Spares Us".

So ends the last letter written home from Gallipoli veteran 202537 Lance Sergeant Albert Skinner, 2/4th
Royal West Kent Regiment, just a few weeks before his death in the hills near Tel Khuweilfe, a few miles
north east of Beersheba, Palestine on 4th November 1917.

These rules are dedicated to Albert and all those other poor sods who are still out there.

And for a brief overview of the rules

Over 800 views and still no proper pictures  :-[ :-[

The weather has conspired against me, cool and damp, with short outbreaks of sunshine  >:( Not warm and dry long enough to varnish the British, so sadly they are sitting waiting with replaced labels. :-w

I have made good progress on the first batch of Germans with brass, metal highlights, some equipment, piping, flesh and hair left to do [I will stop typing now as this list keeps getting longer  ;)]
