Great progress on the Guards last night  :) Finished painting them and also completed the few touch ups required  :) :)

The sculpts make painting so easy I find I am doing far fewer touch ups while painting much more detail  :D Many many thanks Clib =D>

Will wash them tonight and hopefully have time to post some pictures of last week's game as well

Well that's probably just a happy accident of my style, its hard to make figures "paintable" intentionally.
I'm enjoying seeing the figures in use; it makes me want to get my own collection up and running again.

Had some trouble with my flash last weekend so only a few photos of my second game  :(

Will hopefully have some better pics after next Saturday  ;)

33rd Foot advances on Stevens' Virginia Militia Brigade while one wing of 23rd Foot move to eject Lee's Partizan Legion infantry from the farm

23rd Foot has been repulsed from the farm and 33rd Foot is suffering from the combined fire of Stevens' Virginia Militia Brigade and Lee's Partizan Legion infantry

On the American right Lee's Partizan Legion cavalry and Butler's North Carolina Militia Brigade have seen off Tarleton and his British Legion cavalry to the right of the wood. In the wood Campbell's Virginia Riflemen and the other wing of 23rd Foot clash as 5th Virginia Continental Regiment deploys

Back on the left the 33rd Foot and Stevens' Virginia Militia Brigade have fought hand to hand and with supporting fire from the farm Stevens' Virginia Militia Brigade has managed to hold most of it's ground. The wing of 23rd Foot  repulsed from the farm has recovered and returned to the attack.

Casualties were rapidly mounting for the British and with both 33rd Foot and the British Legion cavalry unable to continue they yielded the field to the rebels.

Great game, Paul. I like the idea of using rectangles of "cultivation" to break up the green.

Thanks all, another game tonight  :) :D And I have worked out what I was doing wrong with the flash   :-/ :-[

I use the "yellow" ones for either standing crops at the right time of year or, as here, just to break up the green. Also have some plowed fields and green crops.

I will probably get some bigger areas for AWI due to the much smaller ground scale. I see a trip to my local sewing shop coming up, always fun to confuse the staff there  :)
I might look at some door mats for standing crops for 10mm, didn't make sense for 6mm

I have based the Guards  :) Only need shrubbery and varnish and they are done  :) :)

Have got the Maryland Continental Brigade ready to undercoat, rain or showers forecast for at least the next 10 days  :( >:(

I blame the Royal visit; weather was beautiful until Will, Kate & George turned up  ;D

Just noticed I've had another promotion  :D

As well as the painting above I managed to get the battle report done for last night's game  :)

A couple of "action shots" below and a more detailed report here, http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,9833.0.html

The 5th Virginia Continentals catch a troop of British Legion Dragoons as they reform from defeating Lee's Light Dragoons

Three battalions of Stevens' Virginia Militia Brigade overwhelm the isolated left wing of the 23rd Foot

The British are definitely looking forward to the Guards being ready for the table  ;)

You do realise that they're only there to lend tone to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl?  :D

I'm sure the 23rd would have appreciated the improved tone.  ;)  Stevens' Brigade wouldn't have charged if there were any British reserves.

The plan is to add the Guards Brigade, another Continental Regiment (already finished) and a 3pdr gun each
