Well, she couldn't talk about that while reclining in my arms, could she?

At this point the important question must be will there be a second series of this excellent swashbuckler?

With the cardinal sooming off to be re-incarnated as THE Time Lord can Peter Capaldi fit filming Dr Who and The Musketeers into a single schedule and if not who could take his place????

Well if he's a Time Lord how can scheduling be an issue?

I had wondered if, with Capaldi going off to be Dr Who, they might kill of Richelieu and bring in his historical successor and protege Cardinal Mazarin. I await developments with interest.

Watched Crimson Field tonight and though, as expected, it was pretty much Holby City in Flanders I rather enjoyed it.

I thought Crimson Field was rather good, will certainly watch next week

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Saw all three of them and liked them, although I think that my liking was based on my almost severe lack of knowledge of the times in this part of the world. A tad more knowledgeable now. Wasn't too sure about the prof's flailing arms though.

Heedless Horseman

Latest series starts well....(ok...suspend disbelief about renaissance shell and open order pike...and the outfits!)  BUT very entertaining and worth the watch. Nice to see a show that doesn't need sex to keep it interesting!
Good fights and some nice acting carries over the clichés well.
Hate the TV voice-overs over the credits, though...why don't they ever listen to viewers complaints? Bloody execs!
(40 Yrs ago. I should have been an Angry Young Man... but wasn't.
Now... I am an Old B******! )  ;)

Wot no sex? Wot no Constance? Wot no Milday? Wot no Queenie?

Don't know if I'll bother.  ;)

I have to conclude that there is no room for fantasy in Steve J's wargames world.

Yeah, not enough lasers and battlebots in the Beeb's Musketeer series for Steve J  :D

I was waiting for a thermo-nuclear strike to clear the redoubt. When it failed to materialise and they did the frankly ludicrous charge I thought "sod this for a game of soldiers" and promptly switched channels to watch 'Battle Los Angeles'. At least it was more entertaining and had plenty of explosions, aliens with lasers and their battlebots. What's not to like? :D ;)
