Hello everyone,

Does anyone have photo's of the above two sets please?

BR125 is the naval crew                and

BR153 is the early war Bren gun.

Thankyou,
Roger P.

Hello RogerP

Welcome to the forum. Don't have a pic of the naval crew but it is a static figure in helmet, duffle coat and life preserver, think crew member of a landing craft:-

What sort of naval figure are you after?

The early war Bren gun 'green' is on the left in this pic:-

How's Bendigo going, been decades since I was there? Is the Rifle Brigade pub/brewery still going? - the scene of some lost afternoons and evenings when I was there on business  :D.

Cheers

Thanks 'GrumpyOldMan',

I'm looking for suitable figures to convert/modify/re-arrange into crew figures for the 1/144th scale Allied Coastal Forces models I'm doing. Things like MGB's, MTB's, A/Sub patrol types like Fairmile B's and US PT Boats. I think I have the naval crew figure you mention, certainly some very similar.

I have done quite a number of figures utilising N scale/10mm/12mm figures from various sources and I'm looking at Army type figures for my MGB 314 (HQ ship at St Nazaire) and one of the Fairmile B's, ML 306 (also Op Chariot) which was the one which took on a German TBD. Sgt Tom Durrant was awarded a posthumous VC for taking on the 800 ton 'Jaguar' with a twin Lewis gun from the deck of the 80 ton ML.

Once I have done a good set of RN/RAN etc figures I'll merely swap their heads for US helmeted ones to create crew for PT Boats and Sub Chasers etc then we have the very modern SOC-R boat featured in the movie "Act of Valor", a very neat wee mini battleship.

Yes Bendigo is going quite well, we're well over 100,000 population now possibly close to 110,000 and we've overtaken Ballarat population wise.

Cheers,
Roger.

Hello again RogerP

Of course, you're Roger from Roger's little ships !!!! :) (They don't have a smiley here of the writer hitting their forehead)

Quick scan of the crew of the Oerlikon (BR130) which I understand is the same figure as BR125 is attached below.

Well, I can well understand people wanting to leave the vicious winds whipping across Lake Wendouree. Had a lady friend in Balllarat, spent some very cold time there (not her fault) :D :D

Cool plan Roger.
The Germans even put in a recommendation for his Victoria Cross.
My mum was great friends with the late Dunstan Curtis's wife Patricia, he was one of the boat commanders who made it back. I own a pair of his field glasses.

Hi Guys,

'GrumpyOldMan', I wouldn't have expected you would know who I am, so don't slap yourself too silly.

'mad lemmey', you are correct it was the Jaguar's captain who suggested Durrant be awarded a VC and yes Dunstan Curtis was CO of MGB 314.

As I'm fairly new to this site I'll have to work out how to post images of my models when I've finished the MGB and ML from 'Op Chariot'. Either that or if you two are particularly interested you could 'pm' me your email addresses.

Cheers,
Roger.

Roger, there are two ways to add a picture. One is to store it on your PC and use the Additional Options... -> Attach: -> Browse ... sequence to find it and add it in.

Pictures added this way need to be  128Kb or less so you may need to run them through a graphics package to get them to the right size.

Alternatively post them somewhere like the Flikr image site. If you look at the picture in a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari or similar) you should be able to right click and get an option to Save Image Location (exact wording will vary by browser). Save it and you can drop it into a post using the Insert Image button (Third button, second row - looks like a picture of a picture!). Clicking Insert Image will add a pair of tags (looks like this - ) to the post. Click in the middle of the pair, between ] and [ and paste the saved location.

This advice brought to you by Ulterior Motives Enterprises :)  I'd love to see pics of the finished items and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Hi 'Ithoriel',

Yes I worked it out, much the same as adding piccies on other forums I lurk about on. Below are two of my 'little ships's, the first being a Fairmile B class ML 357 RN and the second being the smaller HDML 1285 also RN.
