One platoon and two squads of "Screaming Eagles" complete. One more squad and a bazooka team to go.

Tafur done, English coming along steadily.

Assembled some Romans, still waiting for a thaw, or at this rate Thor to defeat the Frost Giants that are running our weather systems!  ;D

Crusaders paralysed till next order arrives; meanwhile, forward with the Cumans for the Romans, and the al-Toassin, the Quaraghulam spearmen, the Tabardarriyah, and the Dailami for the Egyptians. DEVS VVLT!

Got the last Airborn bazookas finished. What to do next? Probably the M10s methinks. No, they didn't drop them by parachute....

Had a great AVBCW game with Craig yesterday. I aim to put up an AAR today as well as attempting to finish off some more Italian units if time allows. A busy period as my wife is a Catholic so hardly seeing her at present and so on Daddy day care duty. Plus Dr Who tonight might put pay to my plans!

Steve J

A patchy week has seen the following:

- Italian cavalry and motorbike units plus associated commands finally finished off.
- Pendraken Horsa glider assembled and tweaked with the addition of struts to the landing gear, tail fin as well as a nose wheel with the tail wheel removed. Also reduced the weight so that it fits my stands better.
- Started scratch building a 70' armoured canal boat/barge for use in my AVBCW games. It will have a few MG turrets and probably a mortar 'pit' as well as an armoured wheel house. I might do a few variants such as a troop carrier, naval gun etc.
- Painted the bases of my Dux Bellorum warband. Haven't been able to find the time (or inclination) to start painting the actual figures.

So not bad for me, but with Spring desperate to arrive my time will increasingly be spent outdoors on the garden etc.

Lots of flock and scatter this week, on 15mm Nam, hoping to do the same to the Prussians tonight.

Spraying operations held up by snow and strong breezes. Did somebody mention spring? Finally got the M10s and their associated armoured car and jeeps undercoated and topcoated. Some badly needed anti-tank capability for my Airborn.

Napoleonic French & Austrians?
FIW French & British?
Fantasy Goblins & Wood Elves?

Answers on a postcard...

Painting or anything gaming related other than reading has been non-existent for the past week or so :(. A busy period at work is to blame. However inspired by Nik's 2mm SYW stuff I managed to find some time this evening to start painting the bases on my 2mm Royalist army. At least it was something and felt good after too long away from the painting table.

FIW next I reckon.

Yep - could be...especially as I've just finished "Death or Victory" - top-notch on the Battle of Quebec  :)

I've done the es Salahiyyah mamluks and the Quaraghulam archers. Now comes a moratorium while I nip over to visit my Mum in Cape Town for ten days. Hope my crusaders have arrived by the time I return!

Admit it, FK, you're making these names up as you go along!  ;)

Well, I am inspired by a Pakistani friend who descends from a Lebanese family! But Salahiyyah is derived from the name of the greatest leader of the crusade wars, and nobody's going to accuse me of inventing Saladin, I'm sure.
Quaraghulams = black slave soldiers. Sounds better in Arabic, doesn't it?

O Dinas Powys

After finishing the (first) Pendraken section of the Fungal Forest for the painting competition I've managed the odd bit of tinkering.

The following projects are actually started, but this is more of a finish by 2014 list to whittle away at!  Who knows, some of them may even be ready for the 2014 painting competition!  =)

Finish of odds and sods! Many half done figures, including dungeon fixtures & fittings; flora & fauna...

Trollkin/Gnomes - finish and basing

Swords & Sorcery:
- Picts
- Stygian/Melinbonean equivalents
- Renaissance state equivalents

Fungal Forest - more Mushroom Magic!

Got loads of figures, but not started yet: 10/12/15mm "Tusk"

Cheers,

Meirion
