@Nik:  =O

So, now the painting Comp is over, what is everyone up to?

16th Division 8th Corps and 4th Cavalry Division Prussians for my 1870 Campaign for me (they have been in every fight so far, might be worth honouring them!).

Well now that Spring is here meteorologically speaking, quite a bit of time in the garden. On the gaming front I aim to start basing up my Dux Bellorum warbands.

Steve J

Well an unexpected visit by some friends of my wife put pay to the DB basing over the weekend, however I was able to spend a wonderful Saturday out in the garden as well as the local woods :), so all was not lost.

However I made up for the lack of DB basing by re-visiting my WWII Italians, spurred on by the idea of using them for the CSIR during Operation Barbarossa. I managed to paint the cavalry units bar the horses this evening which i'm quite happy with. For the moment their opponents will be my AVBCW Socialists that are painted in Russian uniform colours, so a pretty close match to be getting on with. Fingers crossed I will be able to finish them off by the end of the week (famous last words) ready for a game by the weekend.

Still stuck with 28mm I'm afraid :-[

On the workbench is the Gentleman's Shooting Club - 8 civvy gentlemen with shotguns for VBCW. Hoping to have these done soon as a load of 28mm BA reinforcements have arrived in the shape of a PzIV, another 25 German Infantry, a German HQ set, a German FAO set and a 1000 point Yank Starter army also for BA (which was a thankyou present from my daughter for helping her move home - here's to more house moves!)

I'm on nights this week so hoping to sit down during the daytime with what 10mm stuff I have tucked away to find something to inspire me back into the fold for a while :)
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Base coat on a division of Prussian Infantry and a division of cavalry last night!
Lots of dark blue and dark grey, looking forwards to the cavalry who at least have some different colours, not looking forwards to the Hussars - anyone any suggestions how to do a death's head at 10mm?

(So Cameronian and Mollianary - have you worked out which Hussars I'm doing next?  :P)

Divisions inked last night, took not much time, apart from I was watching 'The Quick & The Dead' that I recorded the other night, if that film was more brilliantly cheesy it would work for the cheese marketing board!

Work completely put the kaibosh on my plans :(. One of our clients doesn't know their *rse from their elbow, so we are digging them out of a big hole. Unfortunately that meant working until 2.00am and then back into work at 7.30am :o. Could be another late one I'm afraid.

And relax...! After an aboslutely manic week at work I've now got some TOIL tomorrow for some well earned R&R. The plan is to get a solo game of BKCII in whilst the kids are at school and SWMBO is at work :). If I've got the energy tonight I hope to finish off some Italian units for said game. Pics and AAR to follow in due course.

Take us all down to the forum local for a bar-room fight Will. ;)
That'll do. :)

Well I finally found some spare time this morning and got round to basing up my Romano-British warband for Dux Bellorum. More details can be found on my Blog below:

Looking good Steve!  8) Must finish off the three units I started for the painting comp...

I highlighted flesh and did the base piping (white before red) on my Prussians.

Good stuff Steve - nice to see these making progress  :)

I've (finally) lobbed some paint at my SA Chileans...not much, but it's a start...bonkers week with work coming up, so I'm not expecting to get much more done really  :(

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Piping and saddle cloths done for a cavalry division.
Dragoons = easy.
Cuirassiers and uhlans = so so.
Hussars = Lawks they're hard. I can't see straight now!  ;)
