Excellent - I really enjoy gaming the Crimea, but at the moment can only do it in 2mm - which looks great for seriously massed effect, but I'd like to see it in 10mm  8)

Hi

See attached link to photobucket for Crimean game of the battle of the Alma played this weekend. I have also done some pics of units to show Pendraken range for Chad and others who might be interested in this neglected period

Lovely - the British Guards look excellent

Which figures did you use for the French?

What rules did you use - Fire & Furia?

Chad

Bernie

Thanks. Look good. Pity the Guards are in greatcoats, would have been even better.

Hi

Did not mind the Guards in the greatcoats so much as having the highlanders in their porkpie hats rather than bonnets which made for a less imposing figure. Still it is a very nice range and so much better value than Magister Miletum's which was used for the odd units not covered in Dave's range.

The French were my Franco-Prussians from Dave's original French 1870 range, as the Crimean French range is too limited at the moment - so have to live without them in their natty frock coats.

Rules are home grown - a variation of "To the Last Gaitor Button"/"Trapped like a Fox" rules as it can handle 80+ battalions that were committed at the Alma and yet play the game in 3-4 hours.

We will be doing another outing of the system at the Legion III show in East Kent in a month's time so will do some more pics then. We will hope to do the Alma and Balaclava battles.
