Best figure for French Napoleonic Line Bn's FLANK companies

Which will be the best for 1812 French for

1) Line Voltigeur company and 2) Line Grenadier Company, as they need plumes. (ie companies 1 and 6)

The choice appears to be between

These are for the line companies, not seperate light or grenadier battallions.

Would depend on what you are using for the other companies, but the best option would be NPF8.
Not sure if NMF5 is in shako or bearskin. I bought the army pack about 8 years ago which included fusiliers in shako and grenadiers in bearskin, not sure of the codes but fairly sure it's the march attack pose (which is quite static and ungainly IMHO) I seem to recall seeing elite company in plumed shakos on the Pendraken stand at a show a few years back though.

NPF6 not suitable as they have the gaiters which were exclusive to light regiments.

Yes, as long as grenade or hunting horn badges have not been sculpted on the cartridge pouches.

I was going to say 'In 10mm - ha ha', but with Pendraken you can never be sure.

Yes it's almost getting to the stage where there is so much detail on them it takes me longer to paint 10mm than 15mm

A touch or two with a needle-file would remove them.

I'd be tempted to use a few of each of the shakoed figures for variety. Standardisation in the field was pretty well non-existant. I would also query whether, by 1812, the full feathered plume was actually worn in combat.

Snipping a plume down to a pompom or tufted pompom is far easier than adding a plume to a pompom though.

Hi,

No hunting horns or similar on NFP8. They are however in the pre-Bardin coat. Don't know if that matters much to you and it is in any event not very visible.
