Hi All

I've come across the Lineside range of resin vehicles which I was thinking of using for VBCW/SCW/Interwar stuff and since N Scale is nominally 1/160 I was just wondering (before I splash out the hard-earned) if anybody had had experience with them in regard to size, etc. I'll put a few pictures of what caught my eye below, others keen on the same period will understand my interest  :D :D.

A lot of them are listed as out of stock but since the vendor owns the range I'm wondering if they are cast to order. I have emailed to find out.

Any info welcome.

Cheers

No experience with the civilian vehicles, but I have some of the military N-scale vehicles (Sherman Jumbo). These were good quality, and for size they match OK with my Pendraken Shermans. No complaints about the service, but this was before the present owner came along (who never replied to an email query I sent a while ago).
Water is indeed the essential ingredient of life, because without water you can't make coffee!

N scale is compatible with 10mm figures. I've just bought some N gauge rolling stock for my later C19th games, especially the FPW.

Now Dour Puritan, we enter the murky waters of international intrigue that is N Gauge/Scale. As I understand it, British N gauge is 1/148 compared to the rest of the world N Scale which is 1/160, however the track remains the same gauge so that either trains can run on 9mm track. All this is not to be confused with another railway term 2mm scale which is 1/152 but the tracks are 9.42 mm. Hopefully I haven't made a mistake in any of these  :).

Yes OldenBUA, I've scoured various fora to see what I can find out and there was good news and bad news. People did say that Lineside stuff was larger than their other N scale stuff so would likely fit in with 10mm stuff, BUT the same fora also disclose that the owner is very hard to contact and that a lot of the gear shown on the website is almost invariably listed as "Out of Stock'. Will keep digging and hoping that the moulds are still in good enough shape to cast some more  :-\. No reply to my emails as yet. Any of our American members willing to give the phone numbers a shot?

Parting with a pic of a painted fuel truck from the Lineside website that would look fabulous on my table :'(.

Well Grumpy, my N gauge wagons have arrived and fortunately are compatible with what I already have, so, in my ignorance, my luck has held. However, mostly I use 6mm scale buildings which give a good feel to a game using 10mm figures, but there was no way the 6mm railway stuff was going to work, hence my dabble in the murky waters of N gauge. Thanks for the tip.

Hi All

Richard Plantz has just updated his website with:-

"NOTICE - I will be upgrading this site over the next few weeks. I also want everyone to know that I will be starting production back up soon so please keep checking the site. I want to also thank the loyal fans who have kept stopping by while my stock has dwindled and kept in touch. I can't give you an exact date for production yet but I will update this as I get more information. Thanks, Richard Plantz. August 30, 2011"

See, whiny emails can be useful  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.

Dour Puritan, good to hear that your stuff arrived and is compatible. I sometimes think that there is a Wargamer's God sitting out there that looks after us when we stumble about in ignorance but balances the scales with appalling die throws so we don't get too smug  :D. Will have a look at 6mm buildings, good idea.

Now have to go back to the web page and start working out my first order.......

Cheers

Grumpy, have a look at pics of our trees in the photos section. I've posted a picture of a couple of 10mm FPW infantry in front of a couple of 6mm buildings.

Hi

Further developments on the website:-

"NOTICE - I have the shipping issue that has been ongoing for several months fixed (I hope) and will continue upgrading this site over the next few weeks. I will be doing some major upgrades to the site soon and will have to close the shop during that time so don't be alarmed if you see a store closed graphic for a few days. September 19, 2011"

I have ordered one of the few 30s vehicles available to see how they size up to Pendraken stuff, mind you it's a neighbourhood ice cream truck so I may struggle to integrate it into my forces  :D :D. I'm sure I'll be able to do something with it. Maybe I could name the truck after the person with the best suggestion  ;D ;D
