"She got a mouthful of alien - what's she saying?"

"ont eeve ma, elk ma"

"Sounds like 'Run, I'll hold them off!' Sarge."  ;D  :d

As in, they'd killed so many Zulus that some Brits would have got away?
Or they hung on until the game turns ran out so it was a draw in game terms, but the Zulus would still have got them a turn or two later?

Shedman

As in "1 more turn" would have seen a Zulu victory

The Zulu Left Horn doesn't really get into action until Turn 7 as it has to slog across 4 foot of table and cross  2 dongas

Admittedly I was playing against a BBB newbie so I was disappointed to only get a draw against the British  :)

Chris Pringle

Well done for getting a new recruit onto TTS! Good to see you gaming.

Two games of Poseidon's Warriors
Utterly brutal.
Utterly hilarious.
Forgotten how much fun and how simple tgebrules are..

Game 1 Carthage lost half their fleet and their Admiral and fled.

Game 2 Carthafe lost half their fleet, Rome lost a quarter of their fleet but also their Admiral and fled.

Full write up later.

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead
Muppet of the year 2019, 2020 and 2021

sunjester

As well as Will's aliens game, we played a pulp gunfight set in the 1920s.

Last Hussar

The gunfight was Sunjester as Umpire on a Homebrew, 6 players - 2 RCMP (Mounties), 1 Chicago Police, 3xBootleggers, on Canadian Border.

Me: What have you put in?
Sj: I don't know what you mean!
Other players: {confused}
Me: He did a western game with these rules - Town was full of Zombies.

2 turns later; Sasquatch turns up.

We also had a 6 player 'Colt Express', which got a bit manic!

ACW: Bentonville. (BBB rules.)

In March 1865, Sherman was advancing in two columns. Johnston attacked one of them and did significant damage before Sherman's other wing arrived to defeat the greatly outnumbered Confederates.

This three-day battle with its changing situation makes for an interesting game.

Battle of Kissingen 1866
10mm Prussiams vs Bavarians.
Black Powder vs Nick Overland (he was Bavarian)
Last second win for the Bavarians. Great game, interesting scenario, he's now looking at whether it would work for BBB!

Played my small scenario of a "what if" meeting between the Marquis of Montrose's Scots Royalists and a Covenanter force under the Earl of Crawford-Lindsay at Newtyle in Angus in mid 1645.

First time we have used For King and Parliament for a while but the game ran smoothly. The Covenanters chose to remain largely defensive while Montrose attacked with vigour. The Irish Brigade distingished itself by breaking two of the Covenanter pike and shot units while the Covenanters could not find many chits numbered above 7.

An entertaining way to spend ones morning.
"Do you think thats wise Sir?"

A Prussian victory after a hard fought affair with the Austrians

BKC4 Germans vs Russians December 1945 on Tabletop Simulator

After surviving an off-table nuclear strike by American forces, the Germans managed to get most of their troops off the table with the exception of the Maus.

This is sterling work by single-handedly destroying 8 T34s with nary a scratch

Three sided Xenos Rampant
WW1 Halflings vs WW2 German Werewolves (literally Germams with Werewolves) vs Cool Blue Meanies.

Hold central ground until another force breaks.
The Germams did, the Blues broke, the Halflings after starting well  ended up further back than where they started.
