Battle of Nachod 1866 using Bloody Big Battles on Tabletop Simulator

We swapped sides so I was the Austrians and Damien was the Prussians

I tried a new strategy. Instead of an all out assault on the Prussian positions, I sent a unit via Wrchowin and then north on the road through the wooded area in column.

Although it took several turns due to Austrian passiveness, it worked and I eventually swept the Prussians from the field

We've arranged a refight for next week and I've loaned him a book on the war

Oh, well done! I love it when a scenario demonstrates its replayability and has the scope to let you try different plans.

Combat Patrol three sided game.
Baby 40k by the Evil Empire..someone else provided the figures, I just played.
Short, quick, brutal. I played Tyranids vs Space Marines amd Chaos Marine types.

The nids dined well. Big win

Montebello (1859). BBB rules, Kriegsspiel blocks on a printed mat.

A very familiar battle and scenario but an unusual situation:
I was presenting it at the US Army War College as a wargaming tool for use in professional military education.
Got some positive interest from some serious people.

Great Northern War: Kalisz (1706).

An unusual battle in that one side (the Saxons and Russians plus assorted allies) was all cavalry apart from a little artillery. Unusual also in that both they and their Swedish opponents had different Polish factions fighting alongside them, hence both sides had the famous winged hussars.

It made for an interesting game, nice shape to it and more manoeuvre than you tend to get it in more stereotypical 18th-century linear battles.

BBB rules but with Matt Bradley's rule mods for the 1700s.

(I was an observer rather than a player or umpire but I think it counts, seeing as I arrived 20 minutes after the start but then watched for the duration.)

First try out for Trautenau 1866 using Bloody Big Battles on Tabletop Simulator

The Prussians failed to get into Trautenau on Turn 1 due to poor dice and spent the remainder of the game getting shot to bits assaulting the two bridges into the town.

Needless to say an Austrian victory

Imagine what might have been if the Austrians had defended all the Bohemian passes properly.

WWII: Memoir '44.

Gaming with Ben in Hastings, so he suggested we flip it round and make it Memoir '40 instead. I commanded the Germans trying to land at Hastings and Bexhill, Ben had the home guard hunkered down in their bunkers. Operation Sealion failed miserably.
