Got the next two Anglo-Irish units from Paul last night - these will be Lord Montgomery of Ard's and Sir James Montgomery's regiments of foot.

Looking like 2022 will be busy in terms of FK&P games so these boys should see a bit of action next year.

I blame 11-12 hour work days   

New Zealand has handed over APEC hosting duties to Thailand so once I have recovered a bit progress should resume

I blame a new job and the run up to Christmas / silly season with lots of social functions etc

I've finally got back to these and managed to 'finish' painting them including touch ups

Wash, final dry brush and figure bases to do

I must admit to being spurred on by the realisation that we have already passed the 80^th anniversary of Pearl Harbour

I need to paint a number of ships for our up coming ABDA naval campaign that starts on 16 December

Yes, apparently it's some really old geezer's birthday so there's a massive party planned.

So now I have 4 Irish regiments to base up and two more to collect when they are done.....At least it will be a good lead into 2022 as looking at getting quite involved with the "celtic fringe" of the War of the Three Kingdoms next year.

These boys will get a bit of table time in 2022, though as usual I have too many other things on the go as well, both gaming and real life wise.

The last 2 battalia are on my painting rods

Went to undercoat them, knowing I was low on undercoat

Ran out on the first side of four rods

Hopefully the model shop in Christchurch I contacted yesterday has some in stock and can courier it to me

There doesn't seem to be any in stock in Wellington

There are some grey Army Painter sprays available 58km (36 miles) away but they are a significantly darker grey

I needed to get a replacement windscreen wiper blade yesterday so while there I grabbed a 'cheap' spray can of primer that turned out to be enamel

I sprayed a spare figure yesterday and will be base coating it with Deck Tan and Golden Yellow to see what the coverage is like

Any observations on using non-model enamel spray undercoats?

I base coated the spare test figure yesterday and the coverage and over all look is good  

I tried rubbing the paint off to test adhesion and it shows no sign of wear

So I've taken the plunge and undercoated Pierre the Shy's last two Irish battalia

I'm sure they'll paint up as well as usual and not having anything to paint while on holiday was starting to frustrate me
