Last year Adrian replumbed my house, in return Adrian gave me a few boxes of PSC Goth and Huns to paint. Think I've got the better end of the deal!  8)

Ambigous about these figures. Not your painting Will, but the moldings. I have the Hun and Sassainian Pacto army boxes. The figures look fine, but Huns are all in 2 peices, horse and rider legs torsow and head. The Sassainians are mostly one peice but came without lances - no problem I can use my piano wire. The Levey infantry are fine, but have telegraph pole spears. Spoke to PSC, they would be happy to send the lances and said that they were having problems with quality control. Ther Goths do look rather good though.

Must be a record - thread hijack on 2nd post  :'(

Not a hijack at all Ian.
I must admit I am not a fan of either the sculpts or the material.
The figures have a certain 'wobble' and the poses are a but odd, especially how some axes are held. But what the client wants, they get...

Fog in the Manche, England cut off. Oh, thank god! Now all we need is fog right down the marches and all along the Cheviots, then everyone will be happy.

There seems to be no problem with the Battlegroup Northag stuff, but looking at your pictures I can see what you mean the axes look oversized and there are 1 or 2 bendy spears. Is the triangualar gunmetal thing a sword? Will at PSC wasn't too happy with the figures reading beteewn the lines, and did say they ahd redone the Sassanians as single peices. I got the impression they are not in-house designs. Be interesting to see how it goes. Certainly they are cheaper than pewter, £45b for-

2 Elephants
2 Generals
22 Heavy Cav
9 Light Cav (should be 8 but..)
17 Levey Infantry (again should be 16)
8 Slingers
8 Archers.

The range standard might be improving. I didn't like the goth box but I quite liked the English 100YW box and the price/army in a box concept is certainly attractive.  In the end, I decided they weren't for me and the PSC "samples" got recycled to ebay.   Perhaps its the conversion to that special plastic from an existing metal range that makes some figures just look odd?

The price differential is barely there compared to most metals now these have bumped up in price. 32 foot + 32 cavalry = 96 bits, and then add in the elephants. 15mm prices are generally "50p or less" per bit so you can pick up similar numbers of figures for £50-ish from a good number of companies.

(We did a podcast on 15mm pricing before Xmas https://madaxeman.podbean.com/e/episode-53-the-price-is-right-come-on-down/ where we chewed over the obsession with cost in 15mm historical gaming)

32 more bases of Gothic type infantry completed, figures by PSC and shield transfers by LBMTop

As ever, rear rank are in loose formation as the unts are 'flexible', hence less figures per base

Top view, I think we have hit horde propotions!

Look good. Still have doubts about the figures, and am still working through my Sassainians. Peps keep asking me to work.

they do look as though they would also make very good early Saxons for post Roman games in Britain, but unfortunately they are 15mm. Good range of irregular colours used in their clothing.

Not 15mm for post-Roman Britain. 28mm and 10mm yes.

Very nice, Lemmey, but I was expecting 15-year olds in Doc Martens, fishnets, and lots of eyeliner smoking cigarettes across the street from the High School ;)
